teachers-quick question!
Assigning a group poster project today. Do you recommend assigning groups (draw #s or I just pre-set them) or letting them choose their own?
Class has 17 students. I would have 5 groups of 3, 1 group of 2 if I assign or we draw numbers. There are a few students who do not appear to know anyone else in the class.

Will the work only be done in class?
If so, then I prefer to choose groups... if they complain I tell them they don't have to get married, it's just a group project.
Plus that way you can make sure that you have highs with lows, etc.

I prefer to choose groups.
At my level its preparing them for the real world when they won't ( for the most part) get to choose their co-workers.
