To Do Lists... do you make them???

I am just wondering what other people do as I sit here making several different to do lists.. a master list and then separating things into today and tomorrow...lol  I make lists for everything!!  Maybe it just goes with my anal retentiveness and needing organization??  Someone tell me they do the same :- /

Re: To Do Lists... do you make them???

  • Oh yeah. I make a lot of lists. It's remembering where I put the lists that are my issue.

  • Yes! I always have lists going on in my head. And I write them down on our white board too..
  • I love making lists.  Makes everything so much easier not having to store it all in my head.  Plus crossing stuff off feels awesome.

    Yes it does!!

I make the to do lists on my computer (we have a Mac and I use the Stickies program so it just sits on the desktop!

  • I do - but inconsistently.  Usually when it starts being too much to easily remember.  At work it's more like a to-do list by day and then each project needs a full scale project plan because there are too many working/moving parts.  Ack!
  • I have a master list that stays with me at all times and that's stuff I currently need to do. I have lists of things to add to the master list (I sound like a crazy person)that I make if I'm ever out of reach of my purse or if I forget my master list.

There is a master 'to do' list of house things that I keep as well and those are things I hope to accomplish over time. I have a master 'to buy' list of things for the house and it's kind of the same idea. Those are kept in my utility drawer at home.

All of this to say that yes I love lists :) I have a notebook at work and I keep a running list every month to keep me on track. I would never remember anything if I didn't have lists.

  • Oh! I forgot the grocery list. We keep a list on the side of refrigerator and if we use something up we add it on the list or if we remember something we need or want while we're in the kitchen. On Sunday I take that list and add things to make our meal plan for the week.

  • I do!

One of my friends bought me this as a gift and I love it

The pad fits on my day planner that holds my Nook Color ( which I rooted into an Android tablet) and its awesome.

  • When I clean I make a to do list and stick it on the fridge. I cross it off as I get things finished. It helps dh see (& appreciate) everything I do and it helps him know what still needs done without nagging him.
  • Um, I'm a List Freak.  I have a grocery list, personal to-do list, work to-do list.

I have xmas lists (for myself and others) that I run all year so I don't forget ideas for people or for myself.

I have a list of restaurants that I want to try.

I keep my check register in Excel.

I have a xmas card list.

I have a packing list that I use for vacations and work travels.

I also have my calendar that I use color coded - black pen for personal, blue for school, green for gym appts, red for entertainment.  Holidays are highighted in yellow, and vacation days are highlighted in pink.

I'm a little OCD on my lists.  Go ahead, you can make fun of me.

  • I live for To Do lists. DH makes fun of me all the time for it.

  • I make lists, but I feel like they serve as more of a way to organize my thoughts than a reference for me.  Usually, once I write out a list, I seldom if never look at it again (unless it's for something big like packing for vacation).  For some reason, the act of writing tasks or items helps me order things in my head, and I just remember them after that.  I even do this for grocery shopping, and seldom forget anything I needed.  It's weird how that works, though, because I forget all kinds of other things daily, like where I left my keys or the name of a song I wanted to listen to.

This.  I always feel a sense of relief to have things out of my head & down on paper.  And love how satisfying it feels to cross things off!

This. I have lists at work and home. At home I actually have a list of things we want/need to do. Then I have separate lists for some of the bigger items on the first list.

Definitely this! I am a List Queen...I keep them everywhere!

  • I'm great at making them, but even better at losing them or just not using them!
