My babies are coming within a week!
I'm XPing from PgAL... just thought I'd let you all know.
We just back from the MFM. The growth discordance between the twins is getting too big. Baby A is measuring 4lb 15oz with his stomach in the <2 percentile (from <5 at 32 and 34 weeks and the 27th percentile at 28 weeks) and Baby B is measuring 6lb 11oz. The MFM said I definitely won't be seeing 37 weeks.. he said they need to be here definitely by Wednesday or Thursday. I see my OB on Monday and we will schedule the date. The MFM said my OB will also discuss induction vs. c-section. They are both head down but because Baby B is so much bigger, he thinks the labor will be difficult because the smaller baby will come out first and then I'll have to labor harder to get the bigger baby out (they typically like the bigger baby to be first and the difference between mine is so big). I'm disappointed that I won't make it to full-term but I know that it's safest for them to come out early. I can't wait to meet them but I feel like I sort of have a mental block. We have been trying and waiting for this for so long and it's always been so far away that I don't feel like it's real that I will be having them next week!

Does growth discordance happen with fraternal twins, too? Or is that an identical thing? If so... I didn't realize your boys were ID! How fun.

It can happen with fraternals as well, and her boys are fraternal (I am pretty sure, anyway). One can have issues with its cord, one of the placentas can start to break down, etc.

This. My boys are fraternal. Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome can only happen with IDs but a growth discordance can happen with fraternals. They think that Baby A's placenta is not functioning optimally.

Gotcha. I thought TTTTS and growth discordance were the same thing, so I was a little confused--since I didn't think your boys were ID.
