my friends and i went to breakfast when i was in LA and we were talking to our waitress. she was nice but a little goofy to me. anyway she mentioned her other job was as a card dealer at a casino and she said something about counting cards (i wasn't really listening). my friend was like, "omg i want to go to vegas with you!" just joking around. but she was like, "actually i don't know anyone here so i'm always looking to meet new friends" or something along those lines. she suggested they exchange numbers and get coffee or something and my two friends started writing their numbers down (i was out of it because i don't live there). it seemed harmless enough.
then she said "i don't have any friends anymore since i got married." so i was like, "oh no that's not good!" because my friend just got divorced so what does she want with married friends? (joking). then the waitress goes, "oh it's okay! my husband's in jail!"
awkward. by that time my friend was writing down her number so she couldn't not give her her number at that point. she ended up giving her her number but she was like i hope she doesn't call. no offense to people with husband's in jail, but that's not a great resume for a new friend.
Re: ummmm... awkward...
oh my gosh haha I thought she was going to say that since she's been married she just doesn't have that many friends because let's face it you do lose some friends when you get engaged, married, babies, new jobs etc.
But jail is a little strange. I guess it does depend on the reason why though but yah probably not wanting to strike up a new friendship knowing nothing about her.
LOL. totally. she just shared too much, too soon. like maybe that could have come out when they met for coffee or something.
yeah after we were like, "hmmm... we need to know more. white collar or blue collar crime? and did she meet him beforehand or did she penpal him?"
funny story about penpal.
My mom's ex h (first ex h whom she has 3 kids with) he was a terrible guy by the way...always had a rage problem even before her but used to beat the ever loving crap out of her...after she left him he had custody of my brother and my had my other brother and sister but then he started beating on my brother so he came to live with us...he then lost his other wife and kids and got into drugs bla bla bla
got his third strike and ended up in prison for like 10 years..think he got in a fight and added on some more.
Anyways now he's out and married a lady who's hardcore (biker chick but smart is going to get her masters and runs his dry walling business) but her kids are white trash like most of my family including my sister and one brother...but she writes me because apparently my mom's ex was always fond of me (they got together when I was about 2 and he was around until I was about 9) and has these "wonderful memories as a "daddy" " so she is writing me telling me her story etc and then goes....
I actually knew Chris' cell mate (think they were cousins) and he started telling Chris about me and we started exchanging letters and on x date I decided to give myself to him and waited the 3 or so years until he came out of prison and on x date we got married.
face palm....so you only had talked through letters and you decided he was the man for you? umm ok haha
You must be glad you didn't have to write yor number lol!
i don't get those women. i see them on OWN. no thank you!
we still had the paper so we were trying to figure out what to do. eventually they both just gave her their real numbers figuring she probably wouldn't call. they didn't want to hurt her feelings.
and yes, fraire, i was glad!
