So as some of you might have seen I have started trying to make some things and sell them. I haven't tried esty yet, because I feel like there are so many other people selling stuff on there. I have contacted a few professionals from the wedding business that I used when I got married and they said that they would hand cards out to any of the brides they think might be interested. What else can I do to help get my name out there?
I was thinking of sending a mailing with some business cards to some other professionals after calling them, or sending a email out instead of calling. Any thoughts would be helpful. TIA!

consider joining your county's chamber of commerce, doing the wedding shows, going to bridal salons, etc.
Get a website (i know a great web designer), create a fb page etc etc. You need to figure out what makes your product special and market the heck out of it. But you also need to know your demographic as well.
Etsy could be a good starting point for you. You are going to face competition in any market. But I find their model makes it simple in that anyone looking for handmade items will most time start there.
Congrats and good luck!
feel free to fb me if you want to discuss further. we have learn a lot this last 1.5 years of business.
Start a blog, it's free and you can make a lot of connections. Also you can offer your product to popular bloggers for giveaways.
