Help me figure out dinner

I'm having a handful of people over tonight to get ready and preparty before an event. I want to make something that people can snack on or make a full meal and sort of serve themselves.

I originally had planned to just make a giant pot of chili, but it's not very cool out and that just doesn't sound good if it's not cold.

Help me out people! Easy would be great since I'm busy getting the house ready for guests.

  • Maybe make your own nachos?  If people just want a light snack, they could make a small portion or just chips/salsa/guac/cheese dip/etc.  It's quick, easy and usually a crowd pleaser.
  • I agree on baked ziti or lasagna. That's usually my go to in that type of situation.

I do too. The only thing you'd have to cook is maybe some shredded chicken and ground beef. Then just have cheese, avoacdo, salsa, sour cream, lettuce, tomatos, beans, etc and people can make as much or as little as they want.

  • Lots of quick and easy drink options for nachos too.  Margaritas, mojitos, sangria.  Perfect for a "pre-party."
