Re: FFFC/AWF
What are you going to do now? Try another venue for the ceremony or change the date? That sucks.
H has been working out hard core--going to boot camp 3 mornings a week, and working out pretty hard 2-3 more days on top of that. He looks really, really good.
Me on the other hand? I'm eating everything in sight. He gets hot and I get fat. WTF?! I haven't gained a ton of weight yet, but I can tell if I keep this up I'm going to blow up like a blimp. Effing family Christmas pics--these are going to haunt me for years!
Oh no!!!!!! I am so sorry!!!!! My overuse of exclamation points is totally warranted!!!!!
I think I remember where you want to have your reception (near the capitol, right?)..why don't you get married there - I am pretty sure there is an area that overlooks the capitol and at night it is gorgeous - I think that would be a beautiful setting for a marriage ceremony. It sucks when you have your heart set on something, though.
So, my brother proposed to his on again - off again girlfriend for the third time this week. I love both of them but I just really don't see this thing lasting and neither does anyone else in my family. She's a sweet person but she's a MAJOR train wreck!!!
As far as AW, I've got nothing
That stinks Wendy! So sorry.
My old boss totally unfriended me on Facebook, and I'm SO irritated by how petty it is. However, I have absolutely no reason to be irritated because of two reasons: 1. He was blocked from seeing my status updates anyway, and 2. I didn't care for him all that much either. I'm trying to be a grown up about it and move on, but it just drives me nuts how passive-aggressive something like unfriending someone on Facebook can be.
my bookshelf!
Bloggy
Wendy - I'm sorry.
I can't believe the venues you want are already booked up. I hope you find one soon!
ginger - I feel the same way. I had a couple of people unfriend me, and I totally thought it was passive-aggressive. I was irritated for awhile, even though I really didn't have a reason to be. Boo.
No real AW here, but it's Homecoming in Stillwater, and I love this time of year. And, my mom volunteered to babysit DS tomorrow night so I can go to a Halloween party with some friends [and play DD]. This weekend will be more fun than I thought it would be.
My staff from my last job unfriended me on facebook as well. I was kind of like..um...what?!? It was just weird to me. Then again, they couldn't see anything anyway so I guess it isn't like it mattered but still...it is very immature and comes across as burning a bridge that probably shouldn't be burned...
FFFC: My cousin posted on FB that she was really made because our grandma decided not to buy her kids' halloween costumes this year. She said she doesn't know what to do since she's broke and it's such short notice. Ummm, isn't Halloween on Oct. 31st every single year? It really bothers me she just assumes my grandparents will help with everything (like buying the kids' costumes every year) and then she gets mad when/if they don't. She has two kids, our other grandma paid for all of the diapers for both her kids, my grandparents watch her kids pretty much every other weekend, she doesn't have a job, she drunk posts almost every weekend, and she's always trying to get people to feel sorry for her (posting about how she can't pay her electric bill and how she's broke, etc.) This is the same cousin who gets food stamps and was bragging last holiday season about the awesome food they get to eat all the time and not have to pay for. She also asks both sets of grandparents for money every single get together. Geez Louise...
AW: I ran for 4 miles straight the other day!! I honestly could not believe it. I usually feel like I have to take a 1 minute walk break after every single mile. And it was at a pretty decent pace (for me).

HOLY CRAP!! She sounds like a peach!
AW: I have hooked up appliances in my kitchen!! All that is left is the detail stuff which always seems to take forever. Oh, and the backsplash which shouldn't take very long. I am going to leave work early today to surprise my little husband with a home cooked meal. I put some stuff up last night - it is so weird having to be careful. Our old kitchen was such a POS, I wasn't careful at all. Didn't care about the sink or the counters or anything. Last night DH accidently banged a cookie sheet against the countertop and I was like "GOD YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? GET OUT OF HERE!!" Poor guy. He is so accident prone, he just needs to stay away from the new stuff (let's not get started on how he broke the glass in my buffet with my new dining room table -argh!).
I think plan C is to try for Oct 6th (one of the venues was just tentatively booked and if they dont have a contract by Monday it may be released). plan D is to try again next Thursday to book Nov 3rd. If neither of those work, we may have to change our plans entirely.
PW, we are planning to have the reception at the OK History Center and it does have an area that overlooks the Capitol, but that's precisely where we planned the reception to happen. They do have a garden area and a hallway that could be used for a wedding ceremony, but it would be very underwhelming in comparison.
Also, great job Kaylee! That's fantastic!
Thanks!
And sorry about your venue problems. I hope it all gets figured out quickly, I'm sure that's stressful.

AW: We are heading to Stillwater this afternoon and I couldn't be more excited! I went to "Walk Around" for the first time last year and had a blast.
FFFC: My daughter is currently sitting in the floor with a Wii remote while I "catch up".
What if you had your reception and the wedding in the same room with the amazing view? In my mind, I am visioning the tables set up for the reception and placed in a way so that there is an obvious "aisle" (maybe put a red carpet down the center?), then you wouldn't have to rent chairs or anything for the ceremony, your guests could catch a seat at a reception table. Maybe have a cocktail half hour/minging beforehand, then your friends could kind of inform everyone the ceremony is about to start so your guests will sit down and then you make your appearance...
I started on my first beer ten minutes ago. It's been a long fvcking day. My kid may or may not be actively trying to make me want to beat him.
Patience. Patience. Patience. Patience.
If I keep repeating it, surely I'll get there, right?
See, when we were first looking at venues, a lady at the skirvin tried to sell us on something like this and we both felt strongly that it was super weird, so I don't think that's quite for us. I guess we'll re-evaluate next week if we can't get Nov 3rd!!
I, personally, think it could be super awesome. Totally out of the box, something completely different. I think a knottie around the time I got married (or sometime after that) did something similar at the Hall of Mirrors and...the pictures were outstanding (not sure how it was as a guest).
Either way, your big day and you have to do what is comfortable for you! Good luck securing the date in November and let us know how it goes!
FFFC- I just went to the most boring conference of all time. I left early. I'm an officer in the organization. If anyone stuck it out, it should have been me. But, my colleagues and I decided to play hookie.
AW: Poof! (Work related awesomeness)
