I apologize if this has been asked a million times - I looked back a few pages & didn't see it. We bought a foreclosure about 4 months ago and had an inspection. About a month after moving in we started to notice a really bad rotten egg smell from the master bath shower. We have a 2 year home warranty, so I called a plumber to look in to this & other small plumbing issues. Of course, while he was there, the smell did not appear & he suggested thorough cleaning with bleach.
I cleaned it REALLY WELL with bleach & hot water. No smell for about 2 days. I did some searching & found a trick to clean the drain. Did that, had nice results for about a week. At this point, I'm thinking there is something going on with the trap (house is on a slab). The water drains just fine, but the smell is horrible.
Anyone have experience with this? What was causing the smell? What did you do to fix it? Should I just break down & call the plumber again?
TIA!!!

Re: Can't get rid of shower drain smell!!
I agree with this. Also, I used to live in a basement apartment and we had issues with the sewer backing up. It would stink occasionally a few weeks before it did.
