S/O Loft - Where do you buy your jeans?

The conversation about Ann Taylor Loft and other stores clothes going downhill got me thinking about this - where do you buy your jeans? I can't bring myself to spend $100 on a pair of jeans but I'm starting to wonder if buying one really expensive pair that are nice might end up being better than three $30 pairs that I dislike after not very long. I used to like Gap and Old Navy jeans but now I hate the way they stretch out and change their shape. In high school and college I'd buy American Eagle jeans but I don't know what they are like anymore. Maybe a nice pair of jeans will be the kick in the a$$ I need to lose the rest of this baby weight.

  • I was a levi's girl for the longest time.  They have so many different styles that one is bound to fit.  Just give yourself time to try on a lot.

I do like the LOFT Jeans, I have a pair of those I used wear for "nice jeans" occasions.  Sadly I haven't gotten back into them post baby.  With LO#2 on the way I think it will be a LONG time before those get rescued from storage.

  • I had a horrible time trying to find jeans that fit well. I ended up really liking Ralph Lauren jeans.  I'm still searching for trouser jeans that I like though.

  • I have a pair that I love, there are from White House Black Market.  I think they were $75, but I'm not really sure.  I am actually going to go buy another pair from there when I do my fall/winter clothes shopping.
  • I still do Gap jeans...mostly from the outlet.  I get the Long and Lean fit because I know how they fit me and I know what size I take.  I probably pay $30 or $40 for a pair.  But you're right...some of the pairs I have do stretch out and lose their shape.  I also have Old Navy jeans....I have three pairs in the Dreamer fit.  Those have held up pretty well.
  • I haven't had any issues w/ my Gap or ON jeans (I esp like Gap b/c I can get them in the tall length, which works really well w/ heels for me), but I'm planning on checking out Levi's newest (they have three "fits" now) after LO arrives.  My SIL just got a new pair of Levi's and couldn't say enough about how much she loves them, and they looked great on.  I'm also curious to scope out some of the AE jeans after LO arrives - the F&B board has lots of mentions of different AE cuts.

I'm pretty limited on my jeans, though, b/c I need long length, and you can't find those everywhere (or at least not in a price range I want to pay!).

  • Gap or Old Navy. They fit really well.
  • I hate Old Navy anything...I love the Gap Long and Lean...and I also where alot of New YOrk and COmpany
  • I'm horrible but after I started buying "$100+" jeans they are all I buy.  I usually get them at Bloomingdale's since they tailor them there for you too. My favorites are Citizens and 7s but I also like Joe's a lot.

My 1st ever pair of 7s just ripped last month and I'm so sad!!  They were definitely my favorites (wearing many times a week) and 7 years old.

  • I do buy premium jeans. The fit and quality is so worth it for me. 7s are just okay on me but I adore Citizens of Humanity.  I go to Nordstrom once a year, take every brand of jeans in every cut and two or three sizes and try them all on.  Once you know your style and size, you can find the jeans on RueLaLa etc for cheaper if you want.

Ditto this, jeans are one of the only things I do buy more higher end because it is worth it. I had a horrible time finding jeans that fit and also ones that were flattering, didn't fade, and didn't stretch a lot 2 hours into wearing them. I bought 7's about 5 years ago, the Dojo cut, and they are still my favorite jeans. I just bought J Brand Jeans Bombshell Bootcut and I looove them!

  • I just discovered the new Mossimo jeans at Target and I LOVE them. My friend, who generally buys the 100+ jeans was the one who turned me onto them and she loves them too. They come in 4 different cuts and the fit is just perfect. I'm in the process of losing weight, so maybe once I get to my goal size I'll check out the pricier jeans, but for now these work.
