F/U: Estranged from mother
Hi everyone,
Since I posted here quite a bit whining about my mother and our estrangement, I thought I'd post an update. I emailed her the other day to meet up. We had coffee and it was great.
I mean - we're not singing songs and holding hands, but she apologized, I believed her, we had some laughs, and I believe she learned a lot. It was a really positive experience. We're going to try dinner tomorrow and she'll come to therapy with me next week.
While I feel really sad that it took two years to come to this point with her, and it feels like time lost, I think we both needed that long to come to the place we are.
