doctor visit

So, I went to my doctor this week to get a renewal on my migraine pills.  She switched them last year and asked how they were doing.  I told her that they were OK, but that I feel like I am a 34 y/o in a 54 y/o body.  My shoulder, back, and knees are really bothering me and I am just always achy.  I didn't know if this was a side effect, b/c I am overweight, or something else.   She ran a bunch of blood work to check for inflammation, etc, but it all came back normal.  So now what would you do?  Would you pursue it farther?  Or just wait a while longer and see how it goes?  I grew up w/ a hypochondriac for a mother so I always hate to complain about my health (that is my personal issue, I know.)

Re: doctor visit

  • Get yourself checked out. The worst that can happen is they can't find anything, but it's better to try and find out I think. You know you're not just making stuff up in your head that there really is something going on.

  • I say better to play it safe.  Maybe it is due to weight troubles, as you say, and that is easy enough to address in terms of "fixing" the problem.  But if it's not, then it's ALWAYS better to know sooner rather than later.

It could end up being even that you just sleep funny, or need a new mattress or something who knows! But if you know something isn't right with you, you and your Doc should figure it out.  Even if it turns out to be something silly.

  • Definitely get it checked out. Taking chances on medication is silly, that's why we pay the doctors the big bucks to fix what's ailing us.

  • Thanks...I am going to keep pursuing it.  I just hate to be whiny.
