Please recommend internal med/PCP in HoCo

I loved my doctor at Hopkins, she was so knowledgeable but you can only go to her as an employee so now I need to find a new doctor. I think I would prefer an internal med primary over a family medicine doctor but I'll take whatever you can recommend as a starting point since obviously I need to make sure they are covered by insurance.  If you don't mind sharing, I would like to know whether you are able to get quick appointments if necessary and how you feel about communication with them, up to date knowledge, and anything else important.

I am looking for recs in Howard County, Columbia/Ellicott City.  Does anyone know of any primary medicine recs in Fulton area?  There is a good chance we will be trying to move further south on 29 so that would be helpful.  At least I know CWC moved to Maple Lawn.

I looked through past posts and found recommendations for Centennial Medical Group, Maryland Primary Care Physicians, Johns Hopkins Comm. Physicians in Columbia, and Crossroads Medical Center (although unfortunately I don't think they take my new insurance).

Thank you!

Re: Please recommend internal med/PCP in HoCo

  • I currently see a doctor at Centennial Medicine and I was so unhappy with my last visit that I am looking for a new PCP. I've seen 1 doc, 1 nurse practitioner, and 1 PA there and I've never really been overly impressed with my experience there.

If you want more details send me a PM on FB.

  • I go to Johns Hopkins Community Physicians in Columbia and am pleased enough to not feel the need to look anywhere else. If your regular doctor is booked up you can always get in with one of the others there so that's nice.

I saw Dr Catalano for the first time last week and really like her.
