You're a spicy cupcake today! Way to go!
In case anyone was wondering, there's a girl on our birth month board who's being pushy about push presents. Most of the board is telling her to STFU, but she won't.
It's very entertaining. I don't have an opinion on the subject either way. Do any of you?

Re: Aegis

  • A spicy cupcake?!? :)  LMAO.  I'm just glad that the board is not all rainbows and puppy dogs anymore.

The part that irks me the most, which I'm not even going to go into on that thread, is her assumption that we will give up on our careers.  Maybe that's a path that she and her husband choose, and if that works for them great, but that doesn't mean that's what everyone does.

  • If you have the money, go for it.  I'm taking unpaid leave from my job, I would feel very selfish to ask for something for myself when we need so much stuff for baby.  and our ^$#&*# tv broke a few days ago.  Maybe that could be my push present?  :)

  • I think the reason people are getting irritated is because the person who started the original post has written about push gifts multiple times in the past few days - it goes beyond the one thread.  She expects a gift ... eh, to each there own.  Like Sara, I'll be taking unpaid maternity leave on top of what my company offers.  I'd rather use the money for time off then for a necklace or earings or some other material item.

  • She seems to me like a spoiled brat & nothing anybody says is going to change her mind. She reminds me a lot of my sister, her opinion is the only one that's valid.
What time is your appt today?

    You just made me snort.
My favorite is I had symptoms 5 minutes ago & now I don't, should I go to the ER?

  • Oh Lord, that girl is a douche.  I am just praying that my baby is still alive when I go in for my US on Friday.  Holding a baby in my arms seems like a milestone that is sooooo far away right now.  The last thing I am thinking of is what my H is EXPECTED to buy me as my push present.  What a biitch.  She needs to get some perspective on life.

I have decided to stay off that board until I have my US.  I spent waaaayyyyy to much of my time reading the miscarriage/spotting post and becoming more convinced that things would not result in a good outcome for me.  Hopefully I will be able to join all the fun and drama next week.

  • I know and honestly if you ARE that concerned then yes, you should go to the ER.  Not post on some forum and ask a bunch of ladies that have no idea!

Exactly!  There was a post last week where someone came from their doctor and was nervous about something the dr said during the ultrasound.  She asked what everyone thought, and when I asked whether she got clarification from her doctor she got defensive.  I don't know about anyone else, but I trust my doctor a whole heck of a lot more than some random strangers on a message board.

  • Oh no no. Whatever girl said you were "dramatic, much?" for saying your baby is blessing enough...  I will punch if I ever meet IRL.  I think I might be a little hormonal :)
