I need a paint consult, too...

We are planning to remodel our kitchen/dining room area sometime in the next 5 years, but there are other projects ahead of that.  In the meantime, I would really like to refresh the paint in the two rooms, and especially the dining room, as it's the same old yellowed, dinged up white paint that it's been since we moved in 6 years ago.  My problem is, since we just want to change the paint for now, finding a color that will work.  We have mismatched wood & white trim around the windows (& the trim in our kitchen is painted a dark green) and changing out all of that right now is an expense & time-consuming project that we don't want to take on at the moment.  Our floors are dark to mid-green linoleum, and our kitchen countertops are a weird minty green color.  Basically, whatever color we use has to go with the green, but we don't really want to do a beige color because the rest of our living spaces are already tans/beiges.  So, are we stuck with white & its varients?  Would a light sagey/celery kind of color be too much green?  What do you think?  Here are some random pics to show what we're working with:

Re: I need a paint consult, too...

  • Most of the main areas in my house, basically anything that isn't a "color" is Linen White.  Boring, maybe, but it's just enough off-white that it doesn't look like you have white walls.  We have thick white trim and crown molding and there is definitely a contrast between walls and trim.  Our kitchen also has green glass tile backsplash and soapstone counter (dark black/green) and it goes.
