had a pretty great weekend and got everything done i was hoping for: saw old friends and ate out on friday, got some shopping done and looked at trucks on saturday, also had a relaxing night at home saturday night, complete with 11 hours of sleep. sunday we cleaned, i did errands, had a fantastic run, made beef stew, relaxed, etc.
discovered season 12 of law and order svu can now be streamed on netflix so i watched a good 4 or 5 episodes.
hardly got any snow (though "any" is more than enough)
did get new jeans, new run tights, new dress, and i think 3 new shirts?
also, stephanie, i had a dream you texted and called me 100 times freaking out because you were pregnant...weird!
oh yeah, and happy halloween (i literally keep forgetting).
Re: blergh (monday, already?!)
Morning ladies. Figured I better get in on this early b/c I am subbing for music in an elementary (dressed as a black cat no less) and probably wont be able to get on until you guys are done for the day. Boo. I'll try to keep up though.
The weekend was good, sad b/c I couldn't meet for lunch with an old friend on Friday (sick child) and the company that was supposed to come hang out on Sunday afternoon cancelled for a sick child too. I did however, finally convince H to go to the orchard to get some apples, cider and donuts on Sunday instead though... I forgot how expensive it is there. The apples were a decent price ($3 a bag) but the cider was $6 a gallon and the donuts were $9 a dozen. Sheesh. I guess it's expensive to get fat. haha.
Saturday was a pretty crappy day weather wise, but we rode quads for a little while through our trails in the woods before the rain/wintery mix hit.... I hit a tiiinny tree with my quad. Whoo. I bruised my thigh pretty good hitting the handlebars b/c it stopped me so fast (and I wasn't even going that fast, it was around a curve). Cut down about half of my irises too. Hopefully I'll be able to finish those up this week.
Hope everyone had a good weekend, and a great Halloween!
Happy Halloween!
Friday night my in-laws came over with pizza and watched Hailey while we went to small group. It was nice to get out of the house and hang out with some friends for a few hours.
Saturday we went to my husband's little brother's hockey. It is funny to watch 8 year olds play, but he did a great job and had some good chances! We then went wedding gift shopping and then relaxed most of the evening before playing monopoly that night with his family. I think I have had my fill of monopoly for a while... the game just keeps going and going!
Sunday we has Church, followed by rehearsal for the Christmas play we are in this year. Up until last Christmas, husband and I had never acted before in our lives. It was ironic because we played a young pregnant couple despite the fact we never planned on having kids, and then we found out the week after the play that we actually were pregnant. Sunday we also watched a video on marriage and it was absolutely hilarious. I will have to get the name of it because it was completely accurate for our marriage and the guy who talks about men's and women's brains was very funny.
Does anyone have any special plans for halloween? We are just taking our daughter to both of our parents and a few friends' houses in a little pumpkin outfit.
Oh! I also forgot, the couple whose wedding we are in on Saturday had their house broken in to and their wedding bands stolen a week before they get married! I can't imagine!!!
Did you guys have anything happen in the final weeks before your wedding?
The hotel we were supposed to stay at the night before the wedding had a fire the night before we were supposed to stay there. And my dad's tux wasn't the right size and had to be sent from an hour away to be picked up the morning of. Oh and the guys all had to change their suits the day before because they weren't what my husband wanted (think clown pants initially). And finally, DH forgot the music for the rehearsal. Still, I feel like I stayed pretty calm through it all. I think having the bands stolen would be worse!
Saturday I stayed in bed till like12:30. Greg worked late Friday so when he came home we stayed up talking till like 4:30am. I have not stayed in bed that late in the longest time and I figure I only have like maybe 5 weeks to do this so I didn;t feel that bad. I really wanted to go to breakfast but we went to lunch instead and watched the FLorida State game.
Sunday, went grocery shopping and pretty much vegged out. Again was taking advantage of my last fewf weeks. I didn't even go out to watch the Pats play which is either why they lost (I'm kinda superstitious like that) or I'm really glad I didn't goout because Greg said there was tons of Steeler fans at the restaurant.
On a side note, I think I am going to wear a sign that states. "Yes, this is our first. I'm due in a month. It's a girl and her name is B." The amount of peopel who have asked me this all pregnancy is a lot but this past weekend I feel like each person I come see asks this.
Went to hockey games Friday and Saturday. On Friday, we got pizza from our old pizza place that we used to live three houses down from. Saturday, I went to the bank and changed my name, got Arby's (with lots of extra cheese sauce), went to see Puss in Boots (got free popcorn!), took a 2 hour nap, got free calzones (we won them at a promotion at the hockey game the night before), went to the hockey game, watched "Captain America" at a friend's house and then went home. Sunday, we did absolutely nothing and it was GLORIOUS.
Last night, I had nightmares about work. I'm beta-ing this new project management software that the company is debuting company wide in January and it's a bit tricky. So in my nightmares, there was something that I absolutely HAD to do, but I couldn't do it until I did something in the new software and I absolutely could NOT do it. It was awful. Stupid software.

A pox on your dream!
Good morning! Happy Halloween! Just got the call from my MIL, Aunt Cathy died. So MFD will have to be moseying on down to FL.
We were totally ill prepared for snow. I have no idea where the car scrapers are. Pain in my buttocks. MFD was cleaning the car off before our party on Saturday and nearly fell and his wig flew off. I was crying laughing.
The thought of daylight savings makes me mental. Dark at 5? Grand. All that makes me want to do is eat bad food and lay on the couch all night every night. Thank God I go to the gym during the day.
Friday we went to Chili's for burgers. I ate mine off the butter soaked bun. Pin a rose on my fat nose.
Saturday Jenn, Kit Kat and I went to the Relay For Life Flapjack Fundraiser. I got home at 11, changed sheets on two beds, dusted and vacuumed the top floor, cleaned the bathroom, and did 50,000 loads of laundry. I exercised for a half hour, then lounged and watched TV. We went to our Halloween party and got home at 2.
Sunday I slept in until 11, then lounged on the couch all day. Did a bit of laundry and picking up but not much.
Tonight I need to go food shopping since I assed out of it yesterday. I hate driving on Halloween. Too many children running amok.
Tomorrow night we have dinner at my dad's for his birthday. Wednesday night the inlaws are coming for dinner.
I believe someone is coming over today to do some measurements so he can give us an estimate for the kitchen.
Happy Halloween!!!!
Weekend was a blur - I was stuck in celebrate mode all weekend - which pretty much translated to me doing NOTHING and having an excuse for it :-)
Friday J and I went out with some of my friends from school to celebrate, then met up with one of his friends for a haunted maze. I was scared out of my mind. I HATE being scared.
Saturday J worked a 24 hour shift so house to myself = never moved off of the couch, plus it was rainy and snowy and gross. boo.
Sunday we did brunch, napped, and went to a friends house for football and dinner. We got home around 9:30 which isn't terrible, but damn I hate getting home that late!! It always makes me feel like I missed the whole day. I don't know what it is....
I think I still had my scrapers in my car for like 2 years after we moved to Florida. Last year we had so frost/freeze on the car in the AM a couple times. I used my credit card to scrap it off.
Morning. Tired and headache-y. Could be b/c I drank a pitcher of beer yesterday, ate my weight in nachos and wings and passed out at 8pm. Slept like shiit and the dog kept barking and waking me up. Boo on you, pugface. Boo on you.
Friday night, we were in bed by 9. Lame asss old people. Saturday, went to gym, ran errands, and did nothing. We kind of wanted to go out, kind of not. Went to bed at 10. WTF is wrong w/ us. I told DH, you know we're old b/c we're at home in bed at 10 on a big party holiday. Sad.
Sunday went to Old Chicago's and ate said nachos, wings and beer. Watched my boys lose horribly to the Lions, while DH and his BM cheered on the winning 49ers. Drunk + bad Broncos foozeball = angry Misty. Wanted to leave at halftime, but the boys were enjoying their game. 2 hours later, I was home and passed out.
Tonight is zumba then dinner w/ Yuki (squee!!). Jealous?
Steph-I routinely lose my scrapers and find them the day AFTER it snows. And dark at 5pm makes me want to cry.
Angie-also HATE being scared. Watched 1408 on Saturday and was terrified, even though I'd seen it before..
QofA-pizza? arby's? calzones? YES PLEASE!
What. A. Weekend.
Handed out candy with neighbors on Friday night. Out for breakfast then shopping for the halloween party in the snow with my sister Saturday morning. Vegged out Saturday afternoon, then hit the halloween party Saturday night. A lot of people cancelled due to lack of power / the weather but the smaller group was nice. MIL kept shoving her camera in the baby's face, annoying the crap out of me. Sunday was a relaxing day at home. Thankfully we didn't have any clean up from the storm but the rest of our neighborhood was not so lucky. There are still a lot of people without power and roads closed in the area.
I totally missed that Yuki is coming to Denver--TWO NESTIES FOR YOU IN ONE WEEK!?!?!?! YUKi--stay until this weekend so we can get together too!

We have like ten scrapers in our car, they just accumulate. I bought a super fancy one from Amazon last year, which seemed silly since we have so many free little ones, but it's so awesome.
nic_megan - Yikes about the wedding bands! We had some minor hitches right before, but nothing too bad.
This weekend our trip to NJ got cancelled because of the snow, which was awesome. We didn't get much but up in NJ it was bad enough to be a problem. I too advantage of the bonus time to seriously clean my house, which was desperately needed. We had piles of (folded) laundry on the couch dating back to the last vacation we took, in early September. A month and a half of laundry! I also did some baking for my work Halloween party, which is today. I have no idea what time, though.
I went to a craft fair with my mom and sister on Saturday. We were not expecting so much snow so early in the day. My sister forgot she took out the scraper, but luckily there was a sheet in the car so we used that to brush snow off! The only thing I got at the craft fair was a photo of an ocelot. I named it Buyer's Remorse and DH loves it. He was really excited (it's a joke from Archer).
Yesterday I decided to make cookies. And we went out for hibachi for dinner - to celebrate my new job.
Today, I get into work and find out Jon Benjamin (voice of Archer) is working in my building. And Paul Rudd has been stopping by. I now have two weeks to run into one of them. I think that's what I will miss most about this place - the chance of random "celebrity" encounters.
DH LOVES Archer! I like it sometimes, but I LURVE his voice. Hope you get to run into him. And Paul Rudd, yum!
Happy Halloween! I
Halloween so we're excited about tonight. I'm going to hurry home (even though I only live 5 mins from work). I'll get started on the appetizers, put out the fog machine and our boom box so we can play scary music. Then change into my costume, and help Gumby with his. Grab a beer and watch MNF while passing out candy.
Weekend went by too fast. We went out to a club on Saturday night. OMG, I drank way to effing much. I nearly polished off a bottle of sparkling wine by myself, then had a few beers, 2 shots of Cuervo Gold (WTF was I thinking) then a few more beers. Fell asleep at about 1:30 am. Woke up the next day with a horrible hangover. Yesterday I recuperated from my hangover. We watched The Walking Dead, carved our pumpkins and roasted the pumpkin seeds. All in all, it was a good weekend.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
Holler for my first day of leave! Yes! Got lots done this morning, including dropping car off for 100k service + new tires. $1200, yikes! But it's literally the first time I've had to do anything besides oil changes, so it balances out.
Got our car seat bases installed this weekend, but need to get them inspected; they feel way too loose.
Brew - thanks for the BBB coupon! Went and got the two-sided trash can (for regular and cloth diapers) for Predator's room.
Sad news on my parents' dog that they had to put him to sleep on Saturday. Vet believes he had a brain tumor and the poor dog was alternating between basically unable to breathe and stand and pacing and crying inconsolably. They are doing a necropsy to try to confirm, since with all the weirdness with the drifter apparently entering their house it's not 100% sure he wasn't poisoned, although nothing came up on the blood and urine tests.
Steph, I'm so sorry about Aunt Cathy.
Megan, eep, that reminds me that we still haven't put my ring on the homeowners policy! H bought the house before we married and it's in his name only, and he keeps forgetting to send in the appraisal.
We had one big thing before the wedding, but I feel like a brat saying it's something that happened to ME - family friend who was going to officiate had a heart attack en route from PA and he and his wife were stuck in Chicago for weeks for his surgery and recovery. Thank god he's okay now, though! My mom's friend was able to step in, as she was ordained online years ago - her friend started the Universal Life Church. Honestly, we would have just gotten married at the clerk's office on the Friday before if she hadn't been able to step in, we just felt so bad for Sean and his family to be in that situation and away from home.

Had a dream I was queen.

That's awesome news! Yay!
Mush, so sorry about your parents' dog. Anything new on the drifter? So bizarre.
QoA - WOO HOO! That is awesome!
QoA - yay! Fantastic news!
Steph, nothing new on the drifter, but my dad did file a formal police report. AND, the weirdest part, it turns out a friend's hubby put up the scarecrow as a prank. Sheesh! He was beyond apologetic about the anxiety it caused.
