Where do you get your car serviced?

So, quick question for you ladies: my sister needs to get the starter in her car replaced [she's got a Taurus]. Do you guys normally take your car to the dealer to get fixed, or do you have someplace else in OKC/surrounding areas that you take it to?

Re: Where do you get your car serviced?

  • We used Ranchwood Auto out of Yukon whenever my car's check engine light came on.  They fixed it and my car has been running great since. The owners gave me a vehicle to drive while mine was being repaired...that was nice so I didn't have to rent a car or worry about someone picking me up.

My husband only uses the Ford dealership to service his truck.  We've had to make several repairs to his with how hard he is on his vehicle & how much weight we're pulling all the time.  He usually uses Joe Cooper Ford out of Yukon.  They've been pretty good about service and he's felt their prices are reasonable for the work they've done.

  • I used Kwik Kar in Yukon (off Garth Brooks) to get my a/c fixed this summer. It was my first time there. They were very customer oriented, got it fixed the same day and did some extra stuff for free. I'd recommend them and I'll go back there for sure!
  • Sweet - thanks for those! I'll definitely pass them on.

  • We use Wells Automotive on Lindsey in Norman. The guy who owns it is a friend of ours, and is a very trustworthy guy.
  • I don't know where your sister is, but if she's in Moore/Norman, I highly recommend Welch Auto Repair in downtown Norman. Kind, trustworthy man--helped me many times as a clueless car owner in college and my single days.
