B&M reminded me-- I've been wondering what it takes to be a Scentsy rep, and I don't know any IRL. What's the start-up cost? What does that entail? Is it worth becoming a rep if you only intend to sell to friends/family and not do a lot of parties?
Re: Any Scentsy reps?
My friend sells it and answers some of your questions on her website:

It takes $99. And here's everything you get...

They used to have a quota you had to hit, but I think they got rid of that. Based on my sister's opinion... unless you're really active and out plushing it, it's not worth it. You don't get any discounts on the product, and you get 20%-30% of the sales.

and you only get a website for x amount of months, before you have to pay to keep it up
And, the icing on the cake: every Scentsy Consultant also gets a free website for three full months (and just $10 [USD] per month after that), a free online Workstation to organize and run their business, free credit card processing, no inventory to manage, and free shipping on orders over $150! (Discounted shipping rates are offered for deliveries outside the contiguous U.S.)

I don't post much - mostly lurk but I sell Scentsy. You don't really get a discount off the bat but you would make back in your commission if that makes sense.
Truthfully, it would only be worth the start up cost if you combined everyone's orders to get the free shipping every time you ordered. Otherwise, you are better off hosting a party every now and then (you don't necessarily have to do one IN your house). With a party you get free and half off stuff - that seems like it would be more worth it for what you are wanting.
Does that all make sense?

Basket parties are the way to go... that's all I do. Then there's no pressure and not taking up anyone's weekends. Easy-peasy!

Sorry, I'm just now reading this! It's the end of the month and Halloween all at once. I've been stalking my team's numbers.
Anyway, basket parties are great! It depends on your consultant as to how it is done but how I do it is I simply give a little bag full of little mini testers in every fragrance, order forms, and catalogs. If the hostess needs a warmer to show people, I'll let her borrow one.
Then you take the bag to work in the break room/lounge, doctor's office, grocery store - wherever you want and pick up orders. Then you give them all back to me and you get to reap the rewards! It's the same as having a party but instead of your home - it's mobile!
In 2 years, I've done 5-6 home parties and probably close to 100 basket parties. People like to party with "baskets" I guess, lol!
