Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

sorry i disappeared, we had a death in the family (many of you saw on my FB and I truly truly appreciate the sympathy support and condolences)...
I just wanted to reach out and apologize for not addressing the name issue sooner.
To reiterate what most of the nesties suggested/stated -- the poll was just to "see where we stood".
if you've never been referred to by your first name, you won't be now. the reason for the poll was in NO WAY to force ppl to use their name if they've never done so. it was to see if we should all out ban using it. in general, we dont' use it often anyway - so it won't really change much.
If you have occasionally used your first name, well then it will stay that way, or be just your SN. it doesn't mean ppl will start paging me by my name instead of my SN...
My intention was NOT to begin using first names more frequently - just curious as to whether or not ppl actually wanted it to be strictly one way or another as a whole
in addition, we all choose whether or not we have tickers, photos, blog links etc... however, photos CAN dictate who you are even if you don't use your first name.
perfect example - probably well over a year ago now... idk even closer to 2???
NiknTrev and I hadn't met in person yet, not once. And bc of my siggy pics she figured out who my mom was (they work in the same place) bc my mom has the kids pics up at her office ... she was able to figure out who my mom was, therefore, who I am... clearly, I didn't mind because it was her -- but, just wanted to throw that out there- that yes, removing your name is the safest way, but photos can reveal who you are too.
Anyway - sorry for the long post just wanted to address the issue since days had gone by...
