Aegis

What brand of Progesterone are you on?  Was most of it covered by your insurance?

When I get back to Texas I am going to get my OB to do a pre auth on my prescription and see if I can get BCBS to reimburse me on the $240 I had to fork out for a weeks worth of meds.  I don't know how successful I will be but it's worth a shot.  Seriously there has got to be a cheaper option for me!

Re: Aegis

  • I'm on Endometrium 3 times daily, so 90 tablets for a month (although some doctors prescribe 2 times daily which would bring it down to 60 tabs).  I had a $50 co-pay for the 90 tabs from Freedom Fertility - it would have been $531 without insurance (which is still less than your $240 for one week).

As a side, the Endometrium is a chalky tablet that dissolves.  From what I've heard it's a lot less messy going in than some of the other options out there .

Good luck with BCBS - hopefully you can get them to reimburse you some amount.  :)

  • By the way have you given BC/BS a call?  I have Medco for my prescription coverage and when I called them to see what was/wasn't covered they were able to give me the names of a couple of pharmacy that had the best pricing (since they know what the pharmacy submits for payment and what they actually pay out).  It might be worth a shot.
