Halloween wrapup

What was the best costume that came to your house?

A lot of kids, or not so many?

Photos of little ones, pets, adults in costume?

Fun tales to share?

Re: Halloween wrapup

  • Willa was so excited that one of her kindergarten classmates came to our house.  "She must live near here too, mom!"  Hee hee.  They all do.

  • We had a boy come by dressed as a scary clown. I told him his mask was the freakiest of the night. His sister shared with us that there dad will scare them with the mask as they walk home from school. Hilarious. I need to get to know these neighbors better.

Houses in our neighborhood don't normally get too into decorating, so the ToTers loved our fog and cobwebs. Most of the kids were really excited to see Play-doh as part of the treats.

  • What was the best costume that came to your house?

    - Not sure; I was out with C

A lot of kids, or not so many?

    - Not many, according to DH; this is actually the first time in our 5ish years in our house that we've been home and/or had our light on!

Photos of little ones, pets, adults in costume?

    Fun tales to share?

    - My chatterbox had to talk to EVERYone and not just a simple "Trick or treat!/Thank you." He made entire houses full--think extended family there for dinner while the little kids went T-o-Ting--guffaw. DH said there were probably many stories told later that night about the talkative "Buzz Ly-cheer" complete with laser.

  • We had a toddler dressed as Michael Jackson.

I'm glad we didn't go with a robot costume for Henry.  I watched one kiddo try to take steps up to porches.  It was not easy.

Our numbers were down from years past.

Here are our kids (repeat for FB friends):

  • The girls had a ball! They were so fun to watch. We met our neighbor on the way out her house, so she came along with us with ther little girl. All three of the girls were so excited. They kept racing from house to house, but kept tripping. I swear, every third house we were picking some kid off the ground and brushing them up (and sometimes wiping away tears).   We also have to tell them to take turns in going up the stairs first, because it was a big battle about who went first.

My cute story was that Amelia had so much fun handing out candy, she didn't want to come in. She was standing at the end of the driveway with three pieces of candy and was all upset because there were no TOT in site.  My neighbor's mom pulled up, so Mia was all excited and said "there is one.'   Mia ran up to her to give her the candy. The lady had this look on her face like "I shouldn't take this." and I said quietly..."She refuses to go into the house until she gets another TOT so just go along."
