trick or treaters

How many ToTers have you gotten? Mine started coming around 6:30. I must have had at least two dozen of them now, and it's only 7:00. I hope they slow down, because at this rate I'm going to run out of candy. In the neighboorhood we lived in last year, I got less than 10 ToTers, so I started off the evening giving out 2 pieces of candy each. Big mistake!

Re: trick or treaters

  • Zero. We never get them out here :(. At my old house we always had a TON! My roomate had to run out and get more candy the first year we lived there, so after that we always stocked up!

  • None. I live in a second-story apartment that's one unit in a massive complex, so I wasn't really expecting many. But, we had quite a few last year, so I'm a little surprised. Good thing I didn't buy more candy...

  • Zero...but I have the porch light off. I don't have any candy, and didn't feel like dealing with our dog each time the doorbell rings.

  • We only had a few but I turned our light off after I realized that NONE of our neighbors had their lights on (this was at 7:30).  I thought I was a grinch...maybe not.
  • I had 30-40 kids.  I ran out of candy around 7:30 or so and turned off the porch light. I was giving handfuls of candy though because I didn't want to be left with any.  Oops.  about 30 minutes after I turned off the light, my doorbell rang and I got up and noticed that V turned the porch light back on.  I had to give them some of the candy out of his bag becuase I didn't have any left!

ETA:  except the bag of m&m's  I was (and am still) eating.  So not good for my weight loss goals!

  • We had close to 50 come through.
  • We spent the first hour ish out trick or treating with Connor and the neighborhood was crazy packed with people and cars. Then we came home and handed out candy to about 50 kids before calling it a night.
  • Our neighborhood was buzzing with kids. However, we had just gotten home and I was in a hurry trying to fix dinner and shower when the trick or treating started so I just threw a bowl of candy on the porch.
  • We got some. We got home about 7:30 since we had to make our rounds. Molly did really good since she didn't knock down a kid this year. Also I was very happy that we didn't get any 10 year olds dressed as Hooter girls.

  • We had to turn our porch light off too shortly before 8. We probably got around 30-40 kids. Halloween seems to be a good indicator of how much our neighborhood grows each year.

I was surprised at how many kids didn't have costumes this year.

  • I bought 170 pieces of candy and we ended up with 3 pieces left at the end of the night.  I think most of the kids got 2 pieces of candy, maybe 3.  So I guess we probably got around 65-70.  They seemed to come in giant waves with a few stragglers at the very end (I think I turned the light off at about 8:30).

A friend of mine on FB lives in Mesta Park and said she had 3200 pieces of candy and was planning on two per kid.  That sounds exhausting!

Yeah... we had a maybe 12 year old dressed up as a stripper, complete with dollar bills in her bust and underwear. Ick!

This was our first Halloween here and I bought tons of candy... we had maybe 20 trick or treaters all night. The candy went to work with MH today so I wouldn't eat it all.

  • A ridiculous amount. I bought 6 HUGE bags of candy because I ran out an hour in last year. I'd bet we have 30 pieces of candy left, if that. They come through on trailers pulled by tractors, four wheelers, trucks, and any other kind of vehicle with a ball hitch. It's crazy. H and I sit out on the porch in awe of how many kids there are. I'm pretty sure there aren't that many kids in our area - they've got to come from other places.

  • We didn't have any!  And, we bought a ton of candy.  There's a carnival in our town every year on Halloween, but I figured the kids would go trick-or-treating afterwards.  I guess they don't.

  • We had about 50 last night... same as last year. So sad. I wish there were more kids trick or treating! It was fun though. I bought about 90 big candy bars from Sam's Club, got together with neighbors and we dressed up. Kids told us we weren't supposed to have better costumes than them. Oh well. :)
  • We took our kids trick or treating, then H came back to hand out candy while DS1 and I kept walking around our neighborhood. He said we had about 50-60 kids! That seems like a lot to me, but we hardly ever had any in our old neighborhood.
