Need Opinion on Doctor

I have been to a dermatologist twice to remove a wart on my thumb under the nail. And it is back! It is smaller each time, so he is making progress.

Do I keep going to him (they said they would try a different method), or grab my files and go somewhere new?

This doctor got recommended to me by my primary care doctor.

Re: Need Opinion on Doctor

  • Will the insurance cover it if its not a primary care referral?

As much as it stinks, warts are viral.  They can come and go.  I had several removed from my fingers when I was a kid, and a good 20 years later they are cropping up again.  Honestly, I'd give this guy another chance.

If they are in network, yep covered the same (we don't need referrals).

I am planning on giving him another chance, since warts are a pain to remove. Just wanted to make sure I was not being too forgiving or whatever and others would be "get out of there!".

    Thank You!

Sucks though, because yours looks terribly painful!

  • I am in the same boat except its not under the nail its actually on the front of my thumb. I have gone to get it frozen more than 5 times already. They try something new each time and it comes back. It was just done a few weeks ago and now its back but much smaller on a diff spot on my finger now . He gave me a presciption for Zantax the heartburn medicine he said there is something in it that helps to get rid of warts. I started using it since it came back again and it seems like its helping to dry it out and make it smaller.
  • Warts are a PITA. NFT.
