Washer/dryer? Front loader or top
Either would be energy star, in the space we could stack or we could keep as is.
Thoughts? We could stack them but I'm okay with not. They need to come from seats my parents offered to buy from sears since they want to keep their card current.
How do you feel about non matching products like dryer from one washer from another?
Re: Washer/dryer? Front loader or top
We have a front loader washer and I personally hate it. We've had it for 4 years and when it dies, we'll be going old skool and going back to a top loading one. We basically got it because all the cool kids had front loaders.
Since I'm on the an@l side with things, I would get the same brands so that they match but in reality, there is no NEED for them to be the same.
Heather I'm being totally anal! But I know it's no big deal if they are the same color. So I need to stop.
Also I want front loaders honestly because they are pretty and stackable. But i'm thinking I'll prefer the clean of top loaders.
Like I said, we totally got the front loaders because all the cool kids had them and looking back, I really wish we didn't. They do look pretty and I do know people who love their front loaders but I def do not like ours. I like the traditional top loaders better.
As for them not being the same color... I'm not sure if I could live with a white dryer and a red washer, for example. My brain would probably explode.
yes this!!
guys i am looking at the pretty glass open top ones! ooo so pretty.
I have a front-loader by LG that we bought 3 years ago. I LOVE it. It holds so much more and I find our clothes are holding up better without an agitator.
The dryer we have is probably about 20 years old...so no, they don't match. It makes me crazy and I can't wait for that thing to die. It certainly doesn't help that we bought the pedestal drawer for the washer so it's elevated much higher than the dryer.
See! Even the top loaders can be pretty, too!
Good luck on your search!
We actually bought a GE HE Top Loader- it is essentially a top loader that works like a front loader and uses HE detergent. I love it. Would that be an option for you?
With regard to the matching washer and dryer, it wouldn't bother me one bit if they didn't match.
Before you buy, check out Peco's website to see if they are still offering the rebate program and if they do, if the model you are looking into is on the list. I think it's the washers only, and we got back about 50 bucks (they send you a check, which is nice).
We have a front loader-not a huge fan-yes you can fit more in it and it is HE but I feel like the area where you put the detergent gets hella nasty and is a PITA to clean.
It wouldn't bother me if they didn't match-no one goes in the laundry room but Martin and I...
heather i am suprised u don't love yours
we have an LG washer and dryer and i couldn't say enough great things about them. i love the fact it has a huge capacity and you can do a ton of towels and also our king comforter on a reg basis.
did u try consumer reports?
