Re: how many trick or treaters?

  • Ours is moved to Sunday due to the storm. I'm not sure what the turnout will be because of that. We usually get about 30
  • Not as many as the other side of my street.  The other side was hopping but it's a fairly main road and my side is 7 houses and then a huge school.  The other side is like a million houses so I guess kids just stay on that side.

We had maybe 12 doorbell rings - some had up to like 10 kids each though.

  • 20-30. We usually have closer to 50. I sent the rest of the candy to work w/ DH.

  • None.  But we live in an apartment complex, the kiddos that live here may have gone to a nearby subdivision or something.  Its just not common to have ToTers at apartments in this area, I guess.
    Anniversary
  • I would say we had 10 groups. More than last year actually. We went through the candy we bought.

  • None, but we don't really even have neighbors.  I've always lived in the country somewhere, so I've actually never once experienced a ToTer coming to my door.

  • Ummm, one - two hundred ....

Why does this suddenly seem so high after reading this post. Our neighborhood is flocked with children.

ToT has always been that way since I was a kid. Kids everywhere, guess you just gotta pick the right neighborhood. ;)

  • My street has a lot of kids but I think that was the problem. No one was home b/c they were all out trick or treating, so kids that don't live on our street didn't come down b/c there were only 1 or 2 lights on. Lazy toddlers.

  • Our doorbell rang 4 times, so just a handful of kids.  I wasn't expecting many since we live on a newly developed street on the edge of town.  There are just a handful of houses on our street and most are vacant houses still being built.

I intentionally bought candy that I like so that I can eat all of the leftovers!

This!  We actually shut our light off when we still had some candy left, because we wanted to be able to eat it!

We had maybe 15-20 kids come to the door total.

  • I actually went out to dinner with a friend, so I don't know exactly. I know DH talked about one little cute girl, and then made fun of a bunch of teenagers who discussed who was going to ring the bell and walked off without ever TOTing. Our neighborhood has a lot of younger kids, so we probably missed most of them by not being able to be home early. I understand with toddlers wanting to do it early, but it definitely misses a lot of people who would enjoy participating in the neighborhood!

  • I went trick or treating with my niece, so I don't now how many. I did leave al bowl with 200 pieces in it on my porch next to my pumpkin. I am happy to report that I have honest kids in my neighborhood. I got home to about 20 pieces of candy still in the bowl.
  • We have a ton of kids in my neighborhood, so I bought 7 bags of candy.  We had 16 trick or treaters.  Oops.  Next year, I'm going to have to check out the street party that the whole neighborhood goes to.

Although my favorite TOTer was probably 5.  I gave his brother two twizzlers and a pack of m&ms, and he said, "um, I really prefer chocolate."  I picked out snickers, a reeses cup and a kit kat, and the kid was thrilled.  He said thank you and started to walk away.  When he got to the end of the driveway, he turned around, waved, said "sorry for being so particular!  Thank you!"  I thought he was so cute!

  • I had 140 before I ran out of candy at 7:45.

  • We had about 50 kids or so! It might have been more but we were out for a little with Liam.
  • We had 80 kids, which was about what we were expecting, so thankfully we don't have a lot of candy left.
