Moms: ? about sleepsacks

We have gone in to get Lila 3 days in a row now, and she has completely unzipped her sleepsack. I have no idea how she is doing this, but it freaks me out. Her feet are always still tucked in it, as well as her arms but.... would you stop using them? I keep picturing her somehow getting it flipped up on her head. I think (99.9% sure) that she does it in the morning when she wakes up for the final time. She will play in her crib for a while before waking me up to come get her. WWYD?

Re: Moms: ? about sleepsacks

  • For peace of mind, I'd probably stop using them. How old is she now? We never used sleepsacks. When it was really cold we put her in some warm jams with feet.
  • Oh, just saw your ticker, lol. I think I'd stop using them and get her some pajamas with legs/feet in them, just to make sure she is warm enough. :)
  • I would stop using it or start putting it on backwards so she can't unzip it. I always used footie pajamas with Alana once she got older.

  • We've never used them, because Kennedy likes to play with her feet too much.  I would probably stop using them as well.

  • Wow, what a clever little girl! :) I would probably stop using them if Zoe did that, too. She hasn't had a problem with them so far.

  • My only problem is, if I don't use them... what can I use? We keep the thermostat at 73 at night, otherwise I toss and turn all night. Lila sleeps in footed pj's but I don't think that they would keep her warm enough without a blanket over her.

  • They sell fleece footed pjs.  Close her a/c vent in her room?  Get a heavy blanket?  Swaddle her?  Put a hat on her?  Ummmmm.  IDK.  It doesn't seem like this is a hard problem to solve.  I think most of our babies survived without being covered every minute of every night.  Also, during the winter we just put a small space heater in DD's room so we wouldn't have to run the main heater all night long.

I'd personally be more worried about the fire risk of running a space heater all night long than I was about the remote possibility of the sleep sack bunching up over her face.

Thats what I was just thinking. I will look for some fleece pjs though. She doesn't have any, they may work.
