MIL made me cry

We have plans to go to a holiday market this weekend and I FB messaged her asking if we could go on Sunday instead of Saturday because I've got some looming paper deadlines that I'm stressed out about.  I just got this back:

"My daughter, know two things, one, I would do anything for you and two, you never have to explain coursework deadlines and juggling life to me....been there, done that, over and over."

It was so sweet and I am a ball of hormones right now.  Pass me some Kleenex, please!

Re: MIL made me cry

  • Aw.  Sniff.  I wish I had that kind of relationship with my MIL.  If I did that I would have gotten some passive aggressive "Of course!  You do what you need to.  I mean, the other day is better for me.  But you choose.  Really.  You choose......."
  • This is so great. I like reading it just for your sake to know you have an awesome mother in law even if the rest of ours aren't this awesome:) Be sure to tell her how great she is!! :)

    ps--hope your papers go smoothly!

  • She's definitely good people.  :)  She says that she learned how to be a mother-in-law from the best.  (H's paternal grandmother.)  MIL said that MawMaw gave her a sage piece of advice before she passed away- "Your son will always love you- take up for your daughter-in-law."  lol
