Photography Ladies

So we took family portraits today and they came out great.  Except for one thing.....I hate the way my nail polish looks in the photos.  We bought the rights to all of the pictures.  I was wondering if it would be possible/not to difficult to remove the nail polish so I can order the shots I like.

Thanks!

Re: Photography Ladies

  • It's probably going to be a quicker fix to re-color the polish in the shots rather than remove it.

  • That's not something I can do with the software I have, but most likely the "rights" that you bought are just the printing rights... not the rights to change/crop/etc. I've never heard of a photographer selling those kind of rights- that's the creative aspect of it that still belongs to them, ya know? If you really have a problem with it I would just email the photographer and ask if they'd be willing to make the fix for you. GL!
  • Or, order in B&W... that's always a possibility. :)

Agreed. Altering the photos in any way (including crops) is violating the copyright. Even for something as minor as nail polish!

Technically speaking, though... Colleen is right. It would be easier to change the color of the polish than it would be to remove it altogether.

  • Thank you! Regarding the rights, I specifically asked if I could do editing and was told yes.  It was one of the photo places in the mall, not a individual photographer.  The person at the shop told me their computers couldn't do the edit (I personally think she didn't want to take the time), but that I had the rights to do as I wanted.
