FRUSTRATED!

Grr.....I have a job posting out for my company and i thought i had a great candidate and he just e-mailed and said he changed his mind. It's an Account Executive position in advertising and I haven't had a ton of applicants to choose from so i'm very frustrated.
I posted on some local ad club free boards and one other place i paid for.
Career Builder is $419 just to post ONE job for ONE month so that's pretty expensive for my small company.
Tomorrow morning I will listen to how awful the economy is and there are no jobs. double grr...

Have you tried posting on linkedin? I think a lot of small companies are using it to post jobs.
Also (and I say this as a job seeker), is it possible for your company to relax some of it's guidelines? If the job requires 5 to 7 yrs of experience, could you settle for somebody with 3 or 4 years? Or if somebody lacks the exact experience you want, do they have something that's close enough?
This. Or would you at least be interested in looking at someone who had strong qualifications in the field but maybe lacking in the other. I've gone on a couple of interviews where my resume didn't match 100% to the position but they were interested to see if I could fit anyways.
I'd be interested to see the listing given that it sounds like you're having trouble finding applicants. I've worked in several advertising related fields and when we put out a notice for an AE we are FLOODED with responses. Usually close to 50 in the first day and a good amount of them are well-qualified.
Is the pay and years required on par with other AE positions? Are you requiring additional technical skills? Expertise in a specific industry?
