A couple of months back someone started a thread asking why she should read HP. You all convinced me that it was worth my time and I should bite the bullet and just read them.
I mean, if these books have been around 15 years and are just as popular, if not more, than when they first came out I should at least see what all the fuss is about.
Up until book 5 or 6 I really wasn't super into them. They basically were what I expected them to be. But by the last book I was hooked and talking about HP all the time.
Now I can't stop looking at HP things on Pinterest. I want to put "Lumos" on my light switches, dress a baby in a "Muggle Born" onesie and giggle at the thought of Kate and William having a "Half Blood Prince".
So thanks girls, for inspiring me to pick up these books. Next is watching the movies, which I'm hesitant to do (mostly because I don't want to watch the first couple). Also, I'm having an impossible time finding a book to read now that I'm done with HP!

Outlander?
Joan, glad you read and enjoyed them! I'm dying for DD to be old enough to start sharing them with her. There's just nothing like them!
I picked it up last night out of sheer desperation.
Seriously - I'm so uninspired by everything else right now. Have been trying to talk myself into Game of Thrones but am having trouble getting sucked in - and am freaked out by something you wrote about it a few weeks ago on FB. (Remember - I couldn't even make it through WFE....)
Maybe I'll just start Sorcerer's Stone again.

I have the first GoT book sitting on my bookshelf and just haven't had the gumption to pick it up yet. I watched the first season of the show and enjoyed it, but I *just* watched it. I don't know if I want to go through the same basic storyline again already.
And yes, there are some rough scenes
I'm having trouble with reading lately, too. I have the latest Anna Godbersen book upstairs that I need to finish this week, and have a few books on request from the library that are all upcoming releases, but I'm not excited for anything in particular.

It's closed
I just got so excited and googled it just to find out it was closed. I was already making plans of dragging H there this weekend! So sad!!

So glad you read them and enjoyed it! Like the pp's, I've read the series several times and have watched the movies just as many times. They are one of my favorite series! Maybe one day you can make it down to Universal to see the Wizarding World of HP. I thought it was amazing!
