Today is the day I have been waiting for oh so patiently for the past 8 long months of unemployment! I officially have been offered a wonderful position after these long 8 months of constant cover letters writing, resume tailoring, interviews and networking. It feels a little surreal, I keep staring at the letter! I'm so happy, excited and anxious!! I'm so glad that the unknown factor of waiting and not knowing when I'll be back to work is over and hopefully the frustrating sleepless nights will soon go away too.
I wanted to thank you all so much for all your help in this process! I have gotten some really good advice and guidance from you guys so thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Dr. L, a special thanks to you!
I'm going to follow the 9 to 5 board and hopefully be able to offer advice based on my experience.

Thank you Dr. L. It's everything I wanted, and it's still surreal that it all worked out and I actually got the job. Two (3 people each time) interviews, a competency test, a personality test and then the typical reference/background check.
I wanted to get out of bench work and get into the clinical part of research. Also after 10 years, I really wanted out of academic research. This is a project management position at a clinical trial center. So I'll get my foot in the door and the title change is also really good for me. I'm very nervous and anxious but looking forward to gaining new skills! Thank you again, you have literally given the most spot on advice in the past 8 months.
