Hi Ladies. I've been MIA from normal life since Saturday night. We got hit with over 12 inches of snow, and it was the awful heavy stuff. Numerous trees down in our yard, broken fence, and thankfully enough snow to cover the jeep so the tree that hit it didn't seem to do too much damage. I had power lines come down on my car, so we had an electrician come over to make sure they weren't live. Did I mention they were the power lines to our house? Swell. All of CT was out of power, or at least that's what they said. We were out until about an hour ago, and it has been awful. Nothing like keeping an infant warm and a house full of pets alive in the 20 degree nights we've been having. Thankfully, we had a good stack of fire wood to throw in our fireplace, which kept the house at about 54. Still towns without power, and they're saying Saturday for some.
Can I complain about work for a minute? I get that I work at a college, so they have to help out the students, but suggesting we need to use vacation time for the days we need off if we can't make it in is complete BS! In fact, the email read that classes would be cancelled for the week, but the college would be open. This is except for one building that still didn't have power, and any employees that lived in surrounding streets since they didn't have power. How about the other employees who live within a 40 mile radius that also don't have power?! Go figure, the guy making the call to close/open has not been at work.
Anywho, here's some pics for your enjoyment. So glad it's over. DH and I are taking one more day to recover before we head back to work. We need some serious sleep.

Re: snowpocalypse PIP heavy
Yikes, that's crazy! It is hard to believe how hard you guys got slammed when we got less than an inch and it was melted by morning! Well, at least it was pretty? Glad you guys managed though - being stuck with no heat is seriously one of the worst feelings in the world.
That's crazy. And being without heat and power in the winter? Sucks. That happened to us last year and it was terrible. I can't imagine what it's like with pets and a baby to keep warm, too. Glad your power is back.
