Brianne's post below about skin care got me thinking about my issue, which is Hair products. It never used to be a problem, but now I can't seem to find a good shampoo/ cond that keep my hair moisturized and looking decent anymore. I've tried probably 6 different brands, both salon and drugstore and am still searching. What do you use and love?
Re: Hair care~
I may gross everyone out here, but seriously, I used to have really long hair and felt that it never made much difference which shampoo/conditioner I was using...once I finally stopped washing it so frequently, I noticed a huge difference. I have since cut my hair into a pixie and found that it took a little while for it to adjust again, but I only wash it twice a week now and it's so much less frizzy/dry. ..the girl who cuts my hair washes hers once a week...I can't bring myself to go that far! Usually the day before I wash it, I use Suave dry shampoo spray and it's good to go. For shampoo/conditioner, I'm currently just using Tresemme because it was on sale.
I don't know if this is at all your situation, but if you do decide to give this a try, keep in mind that it will take a couple of weeks for your hair to level out - I don't have oily hair at all normally and I felt kind of nasty for the first few weeks. Once my skin stopped overcompensating for the frequent washings, it was great.
Thanks for the suggestions... I have tried going to 4-5x per week washing and don't see much difference, maybe I'll cut back even more. Also, when you don't wash, do you still condition? I do, just so I can comb it out, but maybe that's part of the problem? I'll try some of the suggested products when I get low on my current ones!
Have you tried just sudsing your scalp most days? I've heard that recommended. Like, you can wash your hair every day, but only actually wash the ends once a week or if very dirty. It seems like it would be hard to keep the suds in the right place though.
I don't really have an answer for you, since I'm going through a similar hair-product conundrum, but let us know what you end up trying/how it works! I'm so tired of buying travel-sized bottles and/or figuring out how to get rid of half-used bottles of shampoo.
I swear by Pureology products...love them! They are pricey, but after spending $ on several other products searching for one that I loved and failing, I have gone back to Pureology. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them
