So, who do you think is really the turned American? I don't think it's Brody.
My thoughts - Estes or perhaps Saul. Maybe even Carrie, but... doubtful.
Estes and Saul both had the opportunity to pass the guy a razor blade.

Re: Homeland
And to tip off the couple with the house near the airport.
I watched the most recent episode last night and I had the thoughts about Estes and Saul as well.
It is all so intriguing-say Brody is the turned American-HOW could someone possibly become sympathetic to his captors' cause after the torture he endured? I know there is a lot of psychology behind it (and in this case they had 8 years to break him down), it is just really crazy to think about.
I go back and forth - Estes because he's trying to shift attention to Carrie. Asking that guy to get closer to her because of Abu Nazir popping up?
But then I think Saul because he's SOOOO unlikely, how fricking shocking would it be?
Of course, that brings up the question of why Brody is hiding that he know Abu. But I know they'll explain that.
OH- also... i'd need to go back and watch the first episode, but the prisoner who told Carrie that an AMerican POW was turned? It was Estes who got her in to see him - wasn't it? COuld he have planted that information??

I don't know about Estes and Saul slipping the blade because both were in the surveillance camera's view when they were in the interview room. Carrie remarked on this when she said Brody was the only one who was out of the purview of the camera. But having Estes or Saul as the turned American is a very interesting thought, it's intriguing.
I wonder if Carrie and Brody will be involved, he was majorly flirting with her. Maybe he's onto her. Or maybe he wants to get back at his wife for cheating on him.

I said the same thing after they were talking outside of the veterans support group meeting. I can't believe he hasn't beaten up Mike yet.
I love this show so far!
I get the feeling that the turned one is the guy who went with Carrie the first time to the college. Dang, I can't remember his name. He speaks Arabic and Spanish--had that whole story about how his parents met at the DMV. I think the camera lingers on him a little too long. If Saul is the traitor, I will be heartbroken.
I loved how the sparks fly between Carrie and Brody. What a brilliant, captivating show.
This exactly!
Also, we have to remember he was eating before Brody went in - who gave him the food? He could have been slipped a blade then.

Yep! Him.
Good point about the food too.
I agree w/PP's regarding the 'turned American' to be the one working w/Carrie that Estes bribed to get onfo on her.
My second choice was Estes; especially after finding out that he wants her watched for suspicious activity.
Ugh I hope Saul isn't the one.
I also see Brody and Carrie hooking up. Additionally, I wonder if Estes is going to find out about her 'illness'.
