    It would depend on whether or not a vaccination was recommended before going. If not I would probably go but if so I wouldn't. It would also depend on how far along I was. If I was in the 3rd trimester not a chance.

    I don't think so.  I think I'd try to avoid any vacations while pregnant.  But, it would depend on the country, the reason, and how far along I was.

    nope. h is pissed i won't go to indonesia with him this december. we had kinda/sorta been planning on going for a while..but i told him i would absolutely not go if i was more than 6 months KTFU...i don't think indo is even considered 3rd world...maybe 2nd? oh and i'm going to MX this month...but technically before i enter 3rd tri. what is MX considered?

    i had talked to my OB about MX, and she said it was fine...she did ask me where i was going though...i think because i'm going to tourist areas, she said it would be fine. i have another appt today and i'll dbl check (even though i'm non-refundable booked!), but just in case....

    Honestly, I probably wouldn't, but it depends.  If I was in the first two trimesters, then I would be more likely.  I also would be VERY careful to NOT have any ice or drink any non-disinfected water.  Oh, and the only two countries I would go to would be the ones I've been to: Thailand and Mexico.

    I really doubt I would travel to a 3rd world country while pregnant, I'm a whiny/wussy traveler in general (re: long plane rides, sketchy living situations different from home), and I can't imagine wanting to if I was all big and prego.

    MX is fine IMO - honestly, I would be more concerned about the long plane ride etc than the 3rd world country part.  And obviously I wouldn't go near the end of the pregnancy

    I don't consider Mexico 3rd world, unless you're going somewhere very remote.  I wouldn't want to go b/c why spend the money and vacation on a trip where you can't drink and are uncomfortable?  But if you're fine w/ that and it's early in the pregnancy, then why not?

    when i went to mx last time, i stayed at secrets maroma... its a super nice place.. and i got SO ill. i couldn't imagine getting sick like that and being preg.

    Yeah, I got really sick on our honeymoon too.  And I was being careful.  But, I've been to MX and not gotten sick also.  How about switch plans to Hawaii!  That's what I'd do.

    the only part of MX i've been is TJ. and TJ is DIRTAY. and i didn't get sick, and i had ice.

    oh wait, i also went to ensenada...with ice, and i didn't get sick. so i'm okay......and i was about 3 days pregnant in ensenada Big Smile
