Your avatar looks like it's holding it's tongue for you.
Everytime someone says this I can't help but think its me, or has been me at some point. Guess I'm self-involved.
I remember one time I posted something on MM and got a direct "fvck you". It was a little like "Ouch! Am I not allowed an opinion?" but not hurtful enough to take a break or wear on my mind...its just something I remember.
Really? I never think you say anything too out there. People on the national boards are BSC though. The bump makes me want to go on a stabbing spree.
Yes, that OMG!
I'm in the same boat, if something offends me, hurts my feelings or I just can't think of anything nice to say then I simply don't reply.
Yeah, all this. I wish we could be a little more open about our feelings here when we are offended or have our feelings hurt... not for the purpose of flaming but just so we can have honesty. But, I understand the desire to preserve the dynamic of the board, too, and that's why I don't say something when I'm bothered.
Yeah, extreme paranoia. But I agree with you national board perspective..sometimes I don't understand where the heck they're coming from.
I think the best example I can think of is when I've been left out of the "compliment someone" or "name the nestie who... something" type polls, as I find myself thinking there must not be anything to compliment, or people just don't think of me so I'm not all the important.
But that's when I'm being particularly sensitive! When we did the alphabet the other day (I wasn't on that day and read it in retrospect), some people had left me super nice compliments that still make me smile.
I sometimes feel sad about these types of polls too, but then I remind myself that I'm not a very frequent poster and I generally don't participate in those types of polls and go out of my way to say nice things about other people, so I can't get mad that no one thought of me.
