As much as we all love the classics (Dr. Seuss, Poky Little Puppy, etc.) I REALLY love getting new books that I've never heard of before... little gems if you will.
SO, what are some of your favorite maybe not-so-well-known books? I'm going to add them to Nolan's wish list for the grandparents as well!
Re: Kids Book Exchange
A couple of mine:
Knuffle Bunny
Pickle Chiffon Pie
City Dog, Country Frog
Our crazy, wonderful life
I'm with you ...
I do like classics (which Zac doesn't have many of wink wink) but I often buy things that are more random, or things I remember from my child hood.
Some of my favorites were/are:
Robert the Rose Horse
It's Not Easy Being a Bunny
The Story About Ping
And every kid should own a copy of The Giving Tree.
Totally agree, Amanda! Adding to Liam's wishlist:)
I'm not doing the book exchange since money is tight right now, but I'll still share some of Kodi's favorites
Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus
Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late
Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog
Duck on a Bike
Bear Snores On
Bear Wants More
And pretty much any of the other Bear books from the same author.
Aspen Marley ~ 12.22.11
My Blog of Randomness - Pocketful of Roses
A couple of my favorites as a kid were:
Strega Nona
Stone Soup
I was really excited when my mom found them in her basement a couple of weeks ago
My mom, the kindergarten teacher, is already stocking us full of her favorite books. Here are some that I really like:
Skippyjon Jones (series)
Oh David (series)
Llama Llama Red Pajama (series)
The pigeon books by Mo Willems
Click Clack Moo, Dooby Dooby Moo, etc... (author: Doreen Cronin)
Anything by Sandra Boynton
Walter the Farting Dog (OMG, this book is hillarious. I'm getting it for DH to put in his special diaper bag that I bought for him)
