Re: POLL: Without me, my husband would...
I thought he would be fine, but now I'm not so sure...
Just this morning we had a discussion as to when he was going to mention he needed new boxers. I threw out two pair Monday because of huge holes, and then this morning I notice he has another one come out of the laundry with a big ol' hole in it. I ask how he can not notice holes in his underwear and he says that he noticed, but didn't think about it.
Then on the drive into work I remember a similar conversation regarding his one pair of jeans. The boy lives in jeans, and I noticed again, while doing laundry, that he only had one pair. This is around the same time of year, I ask what he needs for Christmas and he said "I'll have to think about it". Um... you need jeans dumbo.
So, tonight we'll be going through his drawers to see what he needs for clothes. I swear I have two kids already.
I'm not saying he wouldn't have a greater percentage of holy underwear if I wasn't around but he'd be fine.
ETA: My typo is making me laugh so I'm leaving it in all of it's godly underwear glory.
This exactly, He'd probably also misplace bills as they came in the mail and have no idea why the power/cable/phone was suddenly shut off.

DH doesn't need me for anything, lol. He does all the laundry (mine too), balances the checkbook, grocery shops (we share that though he certainly knows how to do it!). He'd even clean (though the house would be dirty until he got around to it - lack of time for either of us to do it is why we have a cleaning lady).
So, yea, sadly he'd be lonely (right?!) but he'd be totally and completely fine.
Its stories like this (as well as your posh NYC living and awesome traveling) that make me so, so jealous of you! I love my DH but he is anything but independent. Its the one thing I would change about him if I could. The man feels weird calling up to order pizza!
Boy, do I have you fooled, lol. My baby-teeeeny house isn't posh. Cute, sure.
I have to say he is extremely independent (we also married later and he lived alone for 10 years or so before we married). I do have to hand it to my MIL though, much as it pains me :P He is a Mommas-boy, for sure, but she didn't baby them. She taught him how to 'keep house' and for that I am grateful.
ETA: I have to say that posts like this make me feel bad for DH. He got a pretty bum of a wife, lol. Seriously, these posts make me want to do more.
This. He would be lost with our bills and has no clue how to clean or where cleaning stuff is.
This is pretty much us exactly, just without kids in the picture...
Definitely this! Although I do the laundry so that would suffer too. DH lived on his own for several years before we got married so he could pay bills, grocery shop...however, since we have lived together, I have handled all of these things. I think it would be doable but far more difficult especially with kids.
