Steam Mops?

Anyone have one and like it?  I was thinking of asking for one for Christmas but I had a Floormate but I didn't really like it.

Re: Steam Mops?

  • MIL got me the Shark steam mop last year from Christmas. I've used it maybe 2 times. Although the swiffer leaves a film on our hardwood floors, I'd rather use it than the steam cleaner. It just doesn't seem to do much of anything except leave streaks. Even the cleaning lady said she didn't like the Shark steam mop.

Now, I've only used it on our hardwoods, not to say that it wouldn't do a good job on linoleum or tile.

  • I have a Bissell Steam and Sweep.  You can use it to sweep up little messes like crumbs, dog hair, etc. and then use it as a steamer.  I use it on our ceramic tile in the kitchen and in our laundry room that has laminate.  It works really well and I feel like it gets the floors really clean.  I like the fact that you can "vacuum" the floor at the same time you are steaming them, so if you didn't get all the junk up the first time, it's doing double duty.  The pads for the steamer are also machine washable.
  • I have a cheap Shark Steam Mop that I got for free and it sucks. I've heard great things about the more expensive ones. They seem to work better and people seem to like them.

This is the only one I would bother with.

We have hardwoods everywhere but the bathrooms and kitchen and I am afraid to use a steam mop on them.

  • I have a Haan Slim and Light that I got from Amazon. I've only had it for a couple of months, but it's worked great so far. It also had the best reviews. It won't make a filthy floor spotless, but it will clean and sanitize a relatively clean floor. You can also use it to steam your carpets.

  • Loving my Eureka Euro Steam Cleaner.  The first two times I used it were a bust, but after that it has worked great.

    I paid $68 from Walmart.com with 97 cent shipping.
