She's an idiot.
She's not giving the gifts back, she is donating 200k to charity.
So, she keeps the gifts, and gets the tax write off.

I don't think she's an idiot. I think she's brilliant. Possibly evil, but definitely business savvy.
Also, this is where I proudly proclaim that everything I know about the Kardashians comes from my once-daily Perez Hilton fix. I've never seen the show. Didn't watch the wedding either. It just all seems so terribly forced to me.

Agreed. I took a little pleasure yesterday in deleting "Kim's Fairytale Wedding" off my DVR with three hours unwatched.
Stupid. Just another Kardashian ploy to keep themselves in the tabloids.
And the whole thing about Kris not pulling his weight, not doing anything with himself while the NBA is on freeze? Yeah, I don't exactly seeing Lamar stepping forward to get a part-time job during his "umemployment".
however, I do believe the whole thing about Kris' family not liking Kim. my friend sat next to his aunt on the plane to LA (for the wedding). apparently 90% of the family refused to go - they thought it was all just a fake production and didn't want to be part of the Kardashian craziness.
I haven't watched it yet either! I debated last night whether to delete it, but decided against it. I thought it might be fun to watch and decide when the marriage was doomed leading up to the wedding.

I was so bummed when I forgot to DVR the wedding. I thought Kim looked so beautiful and happy. Now I think the whole thing was 100% staged and that they were both in on it. Kris coming out and saying that Kim "didn't make a dime off the wedding" is laughable.
I followed everything via the trash mags at my nail salon--the lavish Bachelorette party, the exquisite bridal shower, the wedding pics that were published, the HM. The money that was spent blows my mind. It makes me ill and I think the whole family is sickening. And shame on E for continuing to be a part of it. I will never watch anything on that station.

I heard this on KKITM. I couldn't believe that she asked for millions of dollars in gifts and thinks that donating $200,000 is equal.
I think that Kris' family might be a little more down to earth than hers. I know nothing about his life before the NBA but Bill grew up a bit differently than I did and there have been a few times that I've worded something in such a way to let him know that that's not the real world. I don't think she lives in the same galaxy as we do. While I joke about buying a Louis Vuitton (Dear Santa), I know I'll probably never get one. However, she can buy 1000 and not even bat an eyelash. I can see why he maybe made fun of her or knocked her down a peg.
Agree. It's crazy the amount of time/energy/money they've put into all of this craziness just for a buck or to be at the top of the tabloids. Who do you believe and only they know the real truth?! LOL It's big laugh to me. Go figure I watched the wedding... oh well.
Kris is actually from MN -- grew up in a middle-class suburb of Minneapolis. Public school, went to the U of MN. Just kind of a typical very close-knit family - other than he has always been a star athlete.
But NOTHING even remotely close to Kardashian sensibilities.
I figured as much (I only knew that he lives in NJ). I remember KKITM being shocked that they didn't fly out first class to and from the wedding. It seemed normal to me. Something the Kardashians aren't.
