Johnson & Johnson Products

http://blogs.webmd.com/health-ehome/2011/11/new-report-finds-johnsons-baby-shampoo-not-so-pure.html

There isn't a recall out which blows, I have TONS of large jugs from J around still, recalling would be so much easier.  Just wanted to share.

Re: Johnson & Johnson Products

  • i wonder why this is in the news all of a sudden?  i remember reading this when i was preg w sue.  at the time J&J replied that the tests of there products were false and their brand is still #1 hospital recommended (you know b/c they give it to the hospitals for free.)  i'm just curious why they suddenly are responding that they are indeed concerned?  anyway, it applies not only to J&J products but most J&J subsidiaries- like Aveeno.  and other non J&J companies as well.  you can go to safecosmetics.org and read about how much carcinogens (sp?)- specifically formaldahyde! are in cosmetics.  for this reason we never purchased J&J and used Baby Magic as it had much less.  but the truth is almost all cosmetics have this krap.

  • I just pulled out 6 bottles of J&J products that I plan on returning after reading all this.

What are you ladies using instead?  Baby magic is a good alternative??  I heard burts bees is really good but now I am a little freaked out! I understand it is in everything but.. yikes.

  • J&J is one of the most poorly run companies.  Everything they touch have recalls - from artificial hip implaints to medications for children, infant and adults, shampoos, etc.  I don't use any J and J products periods, and if I find out some random brand I bought is related, it gets tossed automatically.

  • I remember reading things about how harsh and unsafe J&J's baby products are when I was pregnant, and I haven't used it on DD once. MIL just gave DD a Halloween basket with some baby stuff, including a J&J baby oil, shampoo and baby wash. All three went in the garbage when we got home, lol.

    We use CA Baby products.

  • Burt's Bees isn't that fantastic either. Most of their products are a "moderate hazard." We use California Baby products. It's expensive but I think it's worth it. If you want to see how the products you use rate, check out this site: http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/
