  I have only ever taken my kids to in-store portrait studios. Part of me would love to do a more personalized session, but the other part of me can't justify the costs

  Yeah, it can get really expensive really fast. At least the sitting fee is small and there's no minimum order. Most of the photographers I like are hundreds of dollars minimum investments, which I just can't swing. We're going to end up at an in-store portrait place, too because DH can't take the day off work to go with us. So they'll all be of Ty for now, and we'll get family ones done sometime soon. I can't decide where to go for them, though!

  And your family portraits from Sears come out so well! Makes me want to drive up to which ever Sears you go to in MA

  I go to the Sears in the Auburn Mall, but only ever get pictures taken with the manager Christie. The one time we had another photographer there, all she wanted to do was pose my daughter, and DD hated it (and the pictures showed that). I settled on a picture that I didn't 100% love.

  I would love to do a family portrait on location but I can't spend the money on that.  It just adds up so fast.
