My bosses friend and I have, over the 12 years of working in this law firm, have developed sort of a casual friendship. As a group, with his secretary, I've been to lunch and twice just him and I had drinks. After my boss told him that H and I are separating, he's been super nice, telling me that if I ever need a person to talk to, have a drink with, etc. he's around. So today, after the crazy day I've had (I fell in a croweded restaurant at lunch with my bosses - my heel caught my pant hem - talk about embarrassing - I fell like a ton of bricks), I emailed him..
Subject line: I'm thinking...
body: that you and I should have drinks soon!! Available?
His response:
sure, sounds like fun.
Umm...how do I respond to that? Do I even respond to that? I am seriously challenged! *blah*
Re: *help*
Tell him to pick the time and place. That's a good response. Then you'll work on it from there. Good luck!
I would respond with:
I was thinking Friday night 7pm at XXXX place.

Listen to Kuus.
And I hope you're okay after your fall. Bruised egos (and a$ses) are a b*tch to nurse back to health.
