Teeth Talking

Had 4 fillings done today... Can not feel much in my mouth and in a bunch of pain!!!!

Sorry I just needed to vent!

Re: Teeth Talking

  • That's odd to be in pain from fillings, right?

I had 3 done at once the other day and besides numbness there was zero pain.

  • I had 2 small ones and  2 large ones hitting the nerve... that is why they hurt.
  • I meant it might be concerning bc of possible infection.

I hope you're feeling better soon!

  • I thought it was pretty normal to be in pain, partly from the novocaine shots and holding your jaw open that long.

  • The needle from the anesthetic often bruises the hums (and sometimes the nerve) which can cause pain in some people, and no pain in others. For me it has always depended on how bad the cavity was... Just one or two shots of the novacaine never bruised my gums (you can't see the bruising, that's just what the pain is, or so my dentist explained) but mulitple shots definitely do and it's not fun.

    Feel better!

  • I hope you are feeling better.

I had four cavities filled last March. One was awful (I let it go way too long). The dentist had to drill so much off that I needed tons of novacaine. I was one of the lucky one's who bruise--and it showed! It looked like someone had punched me in the jaw. I was sore for days. (Then, he put a porcelain overlay on and it was uncomfortable for months. . . Ugh.)

I do hope you are feeling better. Dental work is important to get done, but it is sometimes no fun.
