How do you keep your home smelling amazing all year round?
I have been using Scentsy plug ins, but those only seem to smell for a couple of days. We have a large house, hardwood floors, high ceilings and leather furniture. There's really nothing to hold the smells in...
Re: Smelly
Well...I'm probably no help but to me, what smells good to me, is nothing. LOL I'm not one for artifical scents. So I like a clean house and fresh air for making my house smell "good".
Maybe someone else will have some tips for ya!
Same for me. Most of our stuff is unscented, but I do use Febreeze (they have an anti-allergen one), and the enzyme cleaner I use for dog messes on the carpet is orange scented. To me, vinegar smell = clean, because thats what I use for most things.
I do this too! I'm always so self conscious because of our dog and cat, what other people smell when they first walk into the house. I love scented tree candles around the holidays. Or crock pot dinners.
I'm OBSESSED with a house that smells good! LOL.
Dryer sheets in closets, in vases, under couch cushions, etc. It goes a little farther if you rip them in half for this purpose.
Glade Plug-Ins are great, not the regular warmers but the fan kind that helps circulate the scent. Plus I found a pin on Pinterest to make my own oil refills! (:
I keep a candle on a candle warmer in the kitchen.
And at the Dollar General a couple days ago, I found a scented gel thing that you hook onto the filter in your central heat/AC unit that distributes a scent throughout the whole house... It works great.
And last, but not least, I keep a couple cans of Febreze around the house for musty smells.
DISCLAIMER: I keep the Plug-Ins on the lowest setting, so its not too overpowering. And I live in an apartment where multiple measures is the only way to keep the musty/mildewy smell from coming back! lol
I'm also obsessed with a good smelling house. I swear by candles from Bath and Body. I also just got Febreeze Noticeables. I put by the mat by the door, where we leave our shoes. So much for noticeable. You have practically be on top of it to smell it all. Not impressed with that.
We do have three dogs, so I vaccuum a couple times a week to keep the pet hair smell away.
Sometimes I do use dryer sheets in the places like pp said, but also in the trash cans, and when I change the bags I disinfect the can.
I do use a Febreeze for pet smells too, particularly on the couch.
My mom likes to brew mulling spices in a pot of the stove and that smells amazing too.
