DH has been approached by a recruiter for a bank in an area we would be willing to move to.
THEN the bank saw where DH is from, and they have an opening in another position near where DH grew up (middle of nowhere Montana).
The problem is that the town is in an oil boom.
Oil boom = No housing...people are living in tents. Tents...in Montana...in winter.
The recruiter said that they would be willing to help with relocation costs and help with finding housing...blah blah blah.
Now they want to meet DH...in a town 3 hours away.
DH told recruiter (he's not desperate for a job or anything) he wants to know the salary range and how much they are willing to help with finding housing before he meets with them. He would prefer a phone interview first. He doesn't want to waste the companies time or his. (he doesn't want to drive 6 hours either)
7 calls later, the recruiter STILL hasn't found out this information. He keeps side-stepping the issue. DH is banging his head against the wall and considering calling the president so he doesn't have to talk to this recruiter anymore. sigh.
Answer the damn question. Not. Hard.
Re: For petes sake...
I know if our recruiter was asked critical questions like salary range and relocation assistance, he better as heck as the bank ASAP and our EVP would call the candidate the same freaking day. I don't think it would be wrong for your DH to side step the recruiter and call the president or VP and get direct answers, especially before traveling 6 hours.
