Product Rants & Raves

It's been a while since we've done this....

What are some things you've tried recently that you loved, or some that you hated?

Re: Product Rants & Raves

  • This product has a super funky name, but it works really well at getting funky smells out of clothes, towels, etc.  I've been using it a lot lately on baby clothes/burp clothes to get the spit-up smell out of them.

It's called "Twenty Mule Team Borax" and apparently in addition to just laundry you can use it for cleaning and whatnot as well.

  • Bare Minerals Well Rested is aweseome for undereye circles.

Skinceuticals has a fantastic line.  I got hooked when my esthetician recommended the line.  It has cleared up my skin and helped get rid of some discoloration and helps smooth out my face.  I get it at the spa I go to and it seems a bit cheaper there & it lasts a while. I have the toner, eye cream, mosturizer and preventive serum 15.

  • This is random, and I haven't used it in forever, but Ritzy's comment about her product having a funky smell made me think of it.  For those of you with dogs, and are having a hard time with them licking or chewing ANYTHING, you want to buy this stuff sold at pet stores called Fooey.  It is absolutely the most disgusting thing ever.  You can actually taste it in the air after you spray it.  And if you get any on your hands, you better not forget to wash it off.  However, it is THE best thing to get a dog to stop licking or chewing on themselves or something else.

  • I love this post!!!!  After reading raves on this post before about Urban Decay Eye Primer I bought some and that is seriously the most amazing stuff I've ever used for keeping my eye shadow from creasing or wearing off.

I'll have to think if I have anything else to rave or rant about.

  • RAVE:

Dove deodorant.  Kinda weird, I know.  :)  But it really does go on clear (even though it is a solid), and nothing smells like sweat, it just smells like whatever scent the doedorant is.  I am totally converted!

    SEMI-RANT:

Not a true rant because I did like some aspects of it, but I tried out the Treseme (sp?) dry shampoo, and while it did a great job of absorbing oil, it also went on as a white powder and made my hair look gray.  I'd only recommend it for blondes.

  • RAVE:

Dutch Stroopwafels!  They are these waffle wafer things with caramel in the middle....omg, so delish!  We got some at the Amsterdam airport that are covered in chocolate, and they taste like Twix bars, they are amazing!

This!  I put it on yesterday morning around 9am & when I went to take it off sometime after 11pm my eyeshadow looked the same as it did at 9am!

You can also use Borax to get rid of ants. An equal mixture of Borax and sugar and just a tiny bit of water in the lid of a yogurt or butter container will get rid of sugar ants.

OMG! Cracker Barrel has these, well not these exact ones but the same concept. They are DELISH!

  • Not really a product but a website:  ebates.com.  They will give you cash back for shopping online.  I bought some printer ink last month and got $17 back for something I was going to buy anyway.

They have a ton of stores, snapfish, barnes and noble, overstock, LOFT, the limited, 6pm, etc etc.  I seriously wish I would have known about this while I was wedding planning, I could have gotten a lot of money back!

Seriously check it out.  I have a feeling I will be doing a lot of my Christmas shopping online this year!
