QOTD Thursday (leftover Halloween candy)

What did you do with your leftover candy, assuming you bought any? Are you planning to eat it, or did you get it out of your house the next day? And how much do you have?

Re: QOTD Thursday (leftover Halloween candy)

  • it is going to work with DH tomorrow...I allow us to munch for a few days and then it goes, it would have gone today but he is not going to his regular office today so bonus snacking day for me:-) haha
  • We had 23 ToTers (yes, I'm a dork and counted) yet hubby somehow thought it necessary to buy three bags of candy. We have a sh!tton of Kit-Kats, fewer peanut butter cups, and fewer Take 5s. The Take 5s are the only things that are really messing with my head right now. :) Want them all! Otherwise, hubby is "disposing of" the others pretty quickly.

The apple cake, s'mores bars, and pumpkin bars in our house, however... NOM NOM NOM.

  • Every day, DH and I have said we're going to bring it all into work, but somehow we both "forget" and end up eating it at night. It's so bad--we just can't seem to part with it. And we bought a lot of candy. We had 5 ToTers and we bought two bags of candy, so there's a lot left. That's not even counting the candy that our neighbors gave to us when we brought the kids by. They also don't get lots of ToTers so they tried to pawn their candy off on us.

  • We usually pick out a few of our favorite pieces to keep and then the rest goes to work.  This year we did take about 1/4 of it to DS daycare for his teachers, but the rest went straight to work and is in a cute bucket on my desk.  It is already mostly gone, yay, goodbye temptation. Wink

  • DH took it to work on Monday morning Big Smile

  • Definitely eating it.  It comes to work with me and will be my secret stash. I'm pretty good at limiting myself to a bag a day though.  2 on rough days.

  • We didn't have that much.  We get a ton of trick or treaters.  I'll mix it in with DS's candy.  I can't eat it (gestational diabetes) and DH doesn't have much of a sweet tooth.

  • We had 1 fun sized milky way leftover.  DH ate it yesterday. lol

Last year I made bark though.  Melted chocolate, chopped everything up and spread it on top then drizzled it with white chocolate.  Holy mackerel was it good.

  • We're still eating ours (and what little T collected ToTing).  Plus, half my coworkers brought in their leftovers.  Which means I'm snacking on candy all day and all night.  It's baaaaad.

We only bought two small bags (not counting the Reese's pumpkins that I'm hoping we can save for a while) and gave away a quarter of it, so there's not a whole lot at home.  Enough to last another week or two if we space it out.  I should really bring some to the office, since we're going to run out of the 18 pounds of chocolate the others brought in by tomorrow.

  • We have a lot left over and I am going to eat it.  SLOWLY since I'm allowing myself 3 pieces a day.  They are in a standing pumpkin (glass) near the front door so it's out of site and out of mind.
  • we just have the reese's mini pumpkins i'd bought before and i can limit myself to one or *sometimes* two each day. DH thought we should buy candy "just in case" but i reminded him that we had the pumpkins already. there are maybe five kids in our building and most of those are babies.

  • I have all of it sitting on my desk in my candy jar!

  • We had a lot left over and we're eating it up slowly.  DH takes a few pieces to work every day and I munch on a few when I get home.

  • Leftover what?

(Actually, we didn't buy candy this year b/c we weren't home.)

  • I am eating it, because I am a fatass.
    ? ?????????????????????????????????????????
  • We don't have much leftover and what is left is mostly what DH likes, so he will probably eat one or two pieces a day until it's gone. I am not a huge candy person so I have much better self control.
  • Slowly eating it.  I really shoudl send it to work with DH, but I love having a daily chocolate fix...
  • We had about a bag leftover and I took it to work on Monday.  The contract attorneys devoured it the same day.
  • We had about a dozen pieces left over. In true OCD fashion I divided the candy into his and hers bags because DH and I don't share well when it comes to treats.

  • We didn't buy any candy since we don't get any trick-or-treaters. My boss brought in leftover candy though, so I took a small stash for DH and I. We do have Sour Patch kids in our candy jar right now (bought for ourselves, not because of Halloween)- those are my weakness!
  • Most of it came into the office and was taken by coworkers in a few hours. We have some in a jar at home, which DH and I will slowly wittle away. We never had much to begin with--a variety pack of fun-size M&M's, which was eaten by coworkers, and then candy that we got at DS's daycare Halloween party.

  • I estimated that we had 220 pieces and we gave out every.single.one! We do have some at the office, because traditionally kids trick-or-treat in our downtown after a parade Halloween afternoon, but we didn't get any, so we've been eating it.
  • I got it out of my house ASAP!! A coworker has contacts with troops overseas so I handed the candy over to her. I couldn't stop eating all the twizzlers I bought.
