What are the best and worst nicknames you've ever had?
Re: QOTD
Susi's probably my best--but it's not used by anyone except my family and you guys. Everyone else, including Josh, says I'm too much of a Susana, whatever that means!
Tuta's my worst, kind of. It's cute because it's what my little brother used to call me when he couldn't say "Susa" (a nickname my cousins had for me). It's bad because it rhymes with the Spanish word for, uh, loose woman. People are way too eager to point that out when they hear Tuta.
Worst:
Woody: Yes, I was called that for years. Friends and some coworkers would call me that. Said coworkers LOVED saying "Morning Wood" whenever I came into the office. I put a complete stop to that when I got married. I remind them that my name is no longer Wood.
Favorite - Mama Wood. I only like it because a lot of my friends have called me that for years. They say it is because I always put others needs before my own, and am always taking care of them in some way. Someday I'll learn to put my needs first, but I do enjoy helping them out whenever I can.
Favorite: Bonus - it was given to me by my MBA friends while we were studying abroad in Germany.
Worst: Barbara - HS classmates gave me this one. It was derived from my maiden name. It started when they shortened my maiden name to Barb, but then they lengthened Barb to Barbara. Barb was ok, but I was not a fan of Barbara. They had many other nicknames that included the word Barb as well (including Barbed Wire), but Barb and Barbara were the two most common.
I've had way to many nicknames. Some of the worst ones included: Dora the Explorer which gets old after a while and Dorito. I also had a bunch of Spanish ones which to my luck include the names of various electronics. For example calculator in Spanish is "calculadora," washer is "lavadora," and so on...
My favorite ones are "Dori" from finding Nemo, I got this one because for a while I had the worst short term memory. Another one is "boots" which was giving to me while I worked at TxDOT. Apparently my steel toe boots looked really big on my skinny legs and small feet just like the character "boots" in Dora the Explorer.
I have had tons.
When I was little it was Eva lolita. Then it got added to to be
Eva lolita conchita coco lopez jalapeno cookie sugar (last name.) I can say it really fast so it sounds hilarous.
Ethel from my brother when was super little and bothering him. He always teased me (we have 4 year age difference). He wrote a short story in middle school about eva the troll and he called me that for a while.
I had a boss sing to me Evvvvvvvvvaaaaaaaaa las Vegas It was awful.
My already very short name becomes Eve, to my Dad. My mom gave me my name because she didn't want it to be shortened. Opps
Mighty Penguin, Crash, and kiwi are a few that I've had recently.
Oh and when Wall-E came out everyone I met around that time would say my name like Wall-E says Eve's name.
That is pretty funny! How did you even get this nickname?
I mostly have one and variations of it. My brother and cousins use it all the time, but that's it.
Ellemorphelle - morphelle, morph, mo.

When I was little, I couldn't say my own name, Crystal, so I used to say crickle. It stuck with my gramps, so when I lived with him, that's all he would use. I loved it, and still hold it dear to me now that he's passed.
In HS and college, there were variations of Styles. It was Crystal turned all weird until it came to that.
Snoopy stuck since Elementary school. I liked the character and used the name on my track jersey. When I was finishing races, the timers were calling me by the name on my shirt.
Chris doesn't get used a lot, but it's there.
I had a manager at my last job call my Crystal Lite, and I called him Wesley Snipes. It worked.
My initials used to be CBS, and I think that was the only one I hated. I also don't like my married name, so people thought it was fun to use the Mrs. B...for a while. Not so much.

When I was younger my mom used to call me Ranni Rae, for some reason I hated it and was so embarrassed she called me that. One day when I was in 6th or 7th grade she called me that at the grocery store and a flipped out and told her I hated it...she's never called me that since. It makes me so sad I did that to her.
I had some pretty bad ones in HS, but with the last name Ball you're a pretty easy target for disgusting names. The most popular was Ball Licker (because Brandi=Brandy which of course is liquor)
Other names - B, B.B. B.R.B (a a lot of coworkers call me BRB)
Most common is Bran. Jason used to call me Brando until my nephew Brandon was born and everyone started calling him Brando.
What's the story behind this one?
Tobes and Tobias are probably the most common ones. Somehow in middle school Tobes got changed into Toaster, and people called me that for awhile. It was very odd. At one point, I was also known as Pie Smasher to some of my friends. Of all of these, Tobes is the only one that people still call me, and probably my favorite. Toaster was definitely the worst.
I love Morph. He's my favourite.
My grandma used to call me Andy, and a friend in elementary school (through to highschool) called me Andera Brainer, but other than just being called my maiden name, and then Raynes, I've not had a lot of nicknames!
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
My dad is from Massachusetts, so he can't say the R in my name, so he called me TJ (my middle name starts with a J). His sisters call me that and so do my grandparents. I've always hated it.
My mom calls me Ta and I've had people call me Tara Beara, but for the most part it's just Tara.
My family always adds stuff, It's sort of like the rhyming game like Mandee fo Fandee's name comes from.
I'm was to little to know exactly where all of them come from. I do remember the last two. Cookie is from my grandpa. I'm not sure why he called me that for a while but it stuck. Sugar is from the old movie Some like it hot. Marilyn Monroe's character's first name is Sugar and her last name is the polish version of my maiden name.
Let see.. I've been Char Bear, BT (big tatas
), mama Charity and Cheeto.
Favorites:
Very few people still call me Char Bear, it is mostly family and really close friends. Cheeto is probably my all time favorite. My baby sister started that about 8 years ago when she couldn't say my name and it has just stuck around.
Worst:
BT was by far the absolute worst! I hated it and it was long gone after I got my reduction. I can't even remember who started that one. Ugh. It still bothers me!
Mama Charity wasn't my favorite but now, looking back at that time, it was kind of cute. I guess I used to just take care of all my friends so I was the "mom".
Long story - shortly before I left for the trip I had watched an episode of manswers that answered the question about how much money pimps make. One night in Germany we were out drinking and started talking about possible career changes after finishing our MBAs. I mentioned that I was considering becoming a pimp because of how much money they made (obvious joke). Then another night out at the bars I was talking to one of my classmates who is a doctor. He specializes in the spine. Several years ago I was having back pain and an x-ray revealed that I had an extra rib (one of the vertebrae in my neck is slightly elongated on one side). So I asked my classmate if this was fairly common. One thing led to another and it was soon determined that my pimp name should be Bonus because of my extra rib. The name stuck and I think I like it because it reminds me of all of the fun times that we had in Germany.
Growing up my Dad called me Whoopsie. I had a doll that when you squeezed her belly, it made a loud noise that sounded like that. I'm pretty sure it also alluded to the fact that I wasn't really planned (none of us were)
In highschool I got the nickname Peach. I wasn't sure what it meant for a long time but I'm pretty sure it was a sarcastic comment on my personality.
My friends started calling me Beeb maybe 12 years ago. One of my friends was half asleep and tired and it came out and it just stuck.
I don't mind when people call me Bethany even though I'm not a Bethany, I'm an Elizabeth. No one should EVER call me Liz. That's not my name.
That is the best nickname story. I think we should call you Bonus.
I could have written this myself! I cringe if anybody calls me Liz.
I didn't really have many nicknames that stuck. I went through short phases of being called Beef and Brain. I was also called by my last name in my first job. That one stuck in that circle, but I don't really talk to much of them anymore.
