Would you date a guy shorter than you?

Re: Would you date a guy shorter than you?

  • That wouldnt really be an issue for me. I wear flats all the time. I guess I have other deal breakers.

  • I'm 5'2", he would have to be a really little guy.  Every guy I've ever dated was taller than me.

  • No. I'm 5'3" and I think it would just be weird. Everyone I've dated have been 5'6" or taller.

  • I have.  I dated a guy 3 inches shorter (I'm 5'6" and he was 5'3" - it wasn't the deal breaker of this relationship).

  • I went to prom with a guy my same height and I hated wearing flats!!

no I think same heightish would have been ok, but i prefer a taller guy...... (like dh!)

  • My hubby is shorter thaN I am. I'm 5'11" and he is 5'7". Neither he nor I care, I don't even really notice. When we are horizontal it doesn't matter :-). I just have long legs, our torsos are actually pretty much the same length. Oh, and he doesnt care if I wear heels (I rarely do but still...)

  • I wouldn't. I'm 5'8" and I've spent my whole live being self conscious about being taller than a lot of poeple-both men and women. I wouldn't want that feeling in a relationship.

Also, I've never been thin, so dating a guy shorter than me would make me feel huge. I also like to wear heels when I go out.

BF is tall and very broad shouldered. It may sound lame, but he makes me feel small and I like that.

  • I have gone out on dates with guys who were shorter than me, but never dated one seriously. It isn't that I would say "No, I would never date a shorter guy.", but I tend to be attracted to tall, broad shouldered guys.

  • I haven't made a rule of it but I was always attracted to tall broad shouldered guys so I'd say no. I'll also admit that I enjoy feeling almost delicate when in H's arms. Embarrassed
  • Really? My DH is tall. I think I would rather be with somebody who was the same height or just one or two inches taller.

  • I dated a guy shorter than me way back in the day.  I prefer taller.

  • I don't think I've ever dating someone shorter than me, but to be honest, I didn't have much of a chance - DH and I got together at 19. I don't think I'd be opposed to it, but I do like that DH can help me climb and can help fix things and whatnot. I'm 5'6 and he's 6' so it's not a huge difference, just enough! I think it's more important to me that my partner is strong rather than tall!

  • Probably not, I'm 5'4" so he'd have to be very short to be shorter than me.

  • I'm pretty short myself (5'3"), so a guy shorter than myself would have to be really short.  I'm not sure that I would never date a shorter guy, but historically speaking I've never been attracted to one.
  • Like MCC, I'm also 5'4", so shorter isn't really an attractive option.  BF is 6'3".  In heels, I don't have to work as hard to give him a kiss.  Otherwise, it's a great calf workout ;)

  • Dulce - DH is 1,95m, so taller than I had perhaps envisaged (I'm a bit over 1,65m) but I really don't mind at all. And I get to feel all little & protected (gag, I know, sorry!) which is nice sometimes.

  • I have, and they both suffered from short man syndrome and were total a holes, so never again. But since I?m married and DH is over six feet, I think we?re good:-)

  • I'm tallish so I don't think it would bother me if a man were a bit shorter, as long as he doesnt suffer from little man syndrome. Iprefer tall men though.
  • No, I would not date a guy shorter than me. But then I'm 5'1", so any guy shorter than me would be really, really short.

  • I prefer a guy to be a bit taller than me at least.

I went to a dance with a guy in high school who was much shorter than me: his face came up to my boobs! He was cute, but I wasn't really attracted to him, too boyish.

I'm not even 5' so I'd definitely have issue with that!  DH isn't really tall 5'7 max and I fit right under his chin :) but I have dated really tall guys (6'4"+) before DH.  I always thought we looked strange together.

Im the same!! im 5'1 and i did date a guy who was 5'3 but he felt like he had more to prove because of his height so would try and get in arguments and fights etc  (you know cause that proves how manly he is ....... gag!!)

My husband is 5'9 and i love that!!

  • DH and I are both 5'6 although I have a few more centimeters on him, we are pretty much the same height, I don't wear a lot of heels so that isn't really a problem.

It hasn't ever been an issue for us and strangely I seemed to have a history of dating men around my height towards the end of my dating history, to be perfectly honest though and DH knows this I would prefer a taller man, DH doesn't have an issue with his height so couldn't care less, he figures if it was such a problem I probably would have done something about it by now.
