Re: where to look for a job?

  • I'm sorry you're struggling!

Monster & Craigslist were the main places I looked.

  • What field are you looking in? What do you want to do? I would go to moster, criagslist or specific organization websites.

    Good luck!!

  • Maybe you can find a good part time graphic position. That would be awesome.

    yeah that would be ideal!

  • In your particular field yes but there are plenty of jobs available during the holidays that you could do while waiting for a better full time job.

That's how I originally got hired on at best buy.

I would do monster and careerbuilder...when I worked at a staffing agency we used careerbuilder the most.

craigslist is good but you really do have to be careful and make sure the company is legit....not sure if your local newspaper is online but ours here has a ton listed online that way as well

And like thor said I would maybe just look up a bunch of local graphic design places and submit a resume with a letter of interest even if they aren't hiring persay they may be impressed and have you come in for an interview

  • I would look at local websites for jobs....local news stations typically have a link for jobs.  I think that can be better than monster or another national job search engine.  I would also submit a resume to local design firms as pp suggested...even if they don't hire you now, they might keep your resume on hand for the future.

  • Do you have a "fun" resume as a graphic designer?  I've heard creative fields like that can do more interesting things with their resumes.  Maybe try something like that...
  • thanks for the help everyone!

  • Good luck MD! Word of mouth is huge. Have you posted anything on your personal FB page? Everyone else's suggestions are great too.
